  • Wake up! Tinnitus is a real problem destroying the quality of peoples lives that needs a cure or viable treatment!
This site has the worst culture of any support forum. Every time I go on this site someone kills any hope of me ever hearing silence again.
People advising others to go on depression and anti-anxiety medication via this forum is maybe the most dangerous worst advice on the planet
It makes me sick to hear people on this forum tell other people there own anxiety/depression is causing the Tinnitus.
How are you supposed to habituate to something that changes tone and volume all the time? It is not possible.
Tinnitus Talk is like the twilight zone. A place where many people think your a bad guy if you don't like Tinnitus and you want a cure
ENT's are unethical scum. There association is actively lobbying against a cure for Tinnitus and Hearing Loss because they will lose money.
ENT doctors are the biggest scumbags of all-time. Went last week to the 6th one and he just googled Tinnitus and printed out the documents

After reading about the tests they perform and how they can make patients worse, I am scared to death to see an ENT. The only thing worse than a doctor who does nothing is a doctor who does more harm.

I see no point in going to an ENT anymore after first/second opinion - the best they can do is tell you what caused your T but there's nothing they can do about it. Dentists are probably the only people who can actually treat T(If your cause is related to your jaw).

@Michael Leigh Your advice might be reasonable but ENT's don't often give that advice. I haven't seen one yet that offered any resources other than telling me there is no cure and nothing anyone can do about it which put me in a state of shock for months. There are unethically bad at there job although I'm sure even a broken clock is right twice a day

@Dij111 Once the ENT doctor has confirmed there is no underlying medical problem causing your tinnitus, you should be referred to a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist that specialises in the treatment and management of tinnitus and hyperacusis. A variety of treatments are usually available. counselling, TRT, CBT, Sound therapy, medication, mindfulness, hearing aids, white noise generators etc.

@Charles_T I live in the UK. When a tinnitus patient is referred to ENT, tests are carried out as I've mentioned in my article: Tinnitus, A Personal View https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/tinnitus-a-personal-view.18668/
If there is no underlying medical problem causing the tinntus, a patient is referred to a Hearing Therapist for treatment and management of the tinnitus in the manner I've described.
What year will a cure be found?

@threefirefour @dpdx Your both probably closer to being right than me but because I unable to face the truth of this condition and the facts that its forever I wake up everyday still surprised its still there raging like a fire alarm. I keep hoping a cure comes by 2025 i don't even know if i can make it to then to be honest though

Your T must be very loud.

@Charles_T Same here, I'm hoping a treatment will be on the market in the next 10 years... I keep telling myself I'll hold on for another 10 years. I think the next 2 years will be really interesting regarding a possible treatment/cure. Hoping hearing loss regeneration won't reach a price similar to Luxturna though...
Tinnitus is truly the soundtrack of hell! I pray to god daily and constantly it gets better for all of us! Nobody deserves this...
