  • My god we have to step the game UP!!! NOW. He was clearly intelligent, distressed and at the same time hopeful. A bit like me. But I'm worried for my survival in this torture to such an effect I'm a young ish teacher applying for disability

How long you had it both ears ?
    N
Since January 2022 primarily. A mixture of a viral infection increased it then loud gym class made it even higher and reactive. Initial pain gone but tinnitus much the same. Wake up in a panic every morning with the jet engine noises greeting me in both ears

Wow. He was a great poster who had the natural talent to reduce matters into its most elemental. His knowledgeable breakdowns on various tinnitus research projects were exceptional. A terrible lost indeed. RIP

Good god. What a terrible shock.

So sorry to hear this. That guy brought a lot of hope to me with his research into tech-medicine. I'm feeling less hopeful without him

Alot here say to do ADs but say they had a horrible time coming off and/or it made them worse. I already had ear damage from Zoloft so i dont think meds can always be the answer..IDK... What else can be done to improve or get by until he does?
So tired of this mild tinnitus for 8 years was a breeze.. i thought moderate was severe.. nope im now at severe for 4 months.. 3days spike
    Ava Lugo
Mild Tinnitus is definitely a breeze lol. Yea severe T is a different animal entirely. I know the feeling.
Same bro... It was better a few weeks ago. Now IDK what to do
    Hottopic29
It will improve just dont be around loud music and noises.. or it will set you back each time ..
Ears just keep getting worse .. tinnitus through the roof now...

@Mal25 i had loudness hypercacusis and pain after awhile my brain calmed down i still do get dull ache gotta avoid loud noise exposure for few months
What treatment or drug has lowered accoustic trauma tinnitus i dont see Flupirtine helping that
    Freerunner
Clonazepam is temporary lowering my tinnitus but it is quite addictive. I am taking it because it is either it or death.
    Mal25
I got prescribed busiprone I'm scared to try it but my anxiety and hyperacusis and tinnitus is pushing me to my limits
    Forever hopeful
@Mal25 Did you end up taking the meds?
Random piercing tone pulse ... and fleeting t episodes alot today my ears so full of sounds allready only difference been taking zinc D3 meg
What causes fleeting T i been getting it evey few minutes all day along with the other 20 tones is this a sign mines changing fml
    MartinPihl
I don't know what causes it, but you are not alone. My fleeting T can be gone for 2 days, and then suddenly I'm hit with 10 of them in a single day. Its so hard sometimes..
Found out wearing muffs to much can actually irritate the the nerve going to your ear making your symptoms worse cause inflamation
One my parents sold drugs to doctors for pharma , i asked other day would you take them for yourself Nope
Im going to stop reading up on Hyperacusis im falling into the rabbits hole creating my own symptoms..widex zens in now
Hyperacusis pain is the nerve in ear canal im told .. its nothing to do with cochlear organ .. stress of tinnitus clenching my jaw i assume
    Hottopic29
My friend doesnt have hyperacusis or tinnitus gets ear pain its nerves she has to take gabapentin
    BrOKeN_1
Clenching is the worst. My jaw is sore this week.

Maybe your earplugs are irritating your ear canals then? Mine used to ache from the pressure of the foam pressing against them. Now I only use them around shopping carts, then switch to customs.
Ok so i have what sounds like a chain being dragged on ground to certain frequency like fan on and such has anyone had that does it go away
Im confused couldn't hear over 12'000 hz now i can on the youtube freq are they reliable
    ThomasF
As I understand it the YT recordings are not able to accurately present certain frequencies. I wouldn't rely on them for measuring hearing. An Audiologist is much better equipped to measure such things.
    kingsfan
Youtube compresses audio so I don't think it's very reliable. Try the tinnitus tuner on the audionotch website. Your speakers also need to be able to reproduce the frequencies accurately as well.

@kingsfan yea i hear the tones on there too under 50% volume sounds like piercing tones
