Does Your Tinnitus Ever Stop Briefly and Then Return?

I've been noticing that my tinnitus will also stop for 1-2 seconds and then return. It's like the opposite of fleeting tinnitus. Fleeting silence? So odd... if it can stop for 1-2 seconds, why can't it just stop all together? Any theories on what causes the fluctuations? I can't seem to find a...

Prednisone for Hyperacusis: Any Experiences? Natural Alternatives?

I've had tinnitus about 10 months. I recently had new above neighbors move in who are doing plenty of "thudding." I have been experiencing more fullness and sound sensitivity since they moved in. I even had a brief spike/fleeting tinnitus after a particularly loud thud. Even though the sound...

For How Long Can Acoustic Trauma Tinnitus Improve? Weeks, Months, Years After Onset?

I've had tinnitus for about 9 months now. I noticed substantial improvements after the first 2 months and smaller improvements over the next 2 months. Since the initial four months, I haven't noticed a substantial difference. Sometimes I'm convinced it is a little better overall. However, I try...

Hi @Bill Bauer, yes. I don't have carpet and I'm very protective of my hearing. Don't go to loud places etc. It seems only a lucky few continue to have their T improve after a 6 month window.

Thanks @Eloy Resendez Jr , it always helps to know that we are not alone with this condition. A sound in your head sure can make you feel so alone sometimes. I do have many more good days than bad though, so hanging in there!

My average T is not quiter than 3 months ago. My low T is lower than 3 months ago. So, yes, I've had some reduction in my low T. I've probably only experienced this low T 7 or so total days in the last 3 months.

Noise-Induced Tinnitus — Positive Success Stories

I just listened to your story about how you got tinnitus even using hearing protection around power tools. I got my tinnitus from one beginner woodshop class (nasty pneumatic staple gun without hearing protection) because ear safety was not mentioned in the class. Processing what happened and...

My Acoustic Trauma Tinnitus Has Faded Some — Will It Continue to Fade More?

@Eloy Resendez Jr Thank you for checking in! Things were a bit tough at first. Working from home was hard to adjust to since there is no background noise like office chatter, HVAC, etc., so I was much more present with my tinnitus. I did have about four days of lower than normal tinnitus last...

My Acoustic Trauma Tinnitus Has Faded Some — Will It Continue to Fade More?

@jjflyman Thank you for reaching out to me again and for your perspective I appreciate your story and your encouragement. I'm glad that yours went away, eventually. I am trying not to hold out for it too much. It seems to be the exception and not the rule. @Eloy Resendez Jr And thank you so...
