My Experience with Laser Dental Drill for Cavities

My tinnitus has been the kind that gets worse with loud noises, because loud noise is how it got started. Although my tinnitus also got a lot worse when I got COVID-19 for a week, and then got even more worse a month after that when I had the flu for a week. It seems like people say electric...

My Experience with Laser Dental Drill for Cavities

Did you wear any type of earplugs? I'd love some kind of earplug that would help block outside noise, but also help allow the drill noise to be able to more easily escape compared to a traditional earplug.

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

My suggestion is to start calling the major hospitals to see what brand MRI they have. If that fails, then start calling the smaller hospitals nearest to the farthest you'd be willing to drive. It will be a pain, unless someone already knows of one.

    MRI Safe Earmuffs

Do you know what brand/model MRI machines you used?

Walked by a Loud Jet Engine That Made a Loud Sound: Now My Tinnitus Is Worse

My belief is that double protection will provide better protection for some frequencies than others, i.e. I bet double protection probably provides more than +5 dB protection against higher frequencies, since those tend to get blocked more than lower frequencies.

    MRI Safe Earmuffs

I finally got my MRI done via the Canon/Toshiba Orion. It took twenty minutes. I used -30 dB earplugs, and the MRI earmuffs they provided. They played music through it and I had taken a Valium. I did pretty well. I could hardly hear the MRI machine noise other than random times like the...

Do You Wear Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earbuds Inside Earmuffs?

I've done research and have determined that 3M Peltor X5A are probably the best earmuffs to get. I wanted name brand, high dB rating, and soft muffs. I haven't ordered them yet. I right now put wired earbuds under my earmuffs when e.g., mowing the yard to listen to YouTube or whatever. The stem...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

People who've researched this all seem to say the same thing. Only go for Canon/Toshiba as they have patents on their hardware and software technology that no others have. i.e. coils encased in a vacuum. I'd only go for Canon/Toshiba, but if there are multiple in driving distance, go for...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

For brain MRI, I doubt you'll be able to wear a headset. Though be sure to ask. I'd at least get high rated foam earplugs and the Mack's silicone putty over top. I've been using the Mack's Slim Ultra Soft, but plan to test out their regular Ultra Soft plugs.

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

I'd be getting an MRI of the thoracic spine, which I've had before and I think it goes for an hour. One problem with the foam earplugs is they can get itchy. So I'll be running some tests as it could be hard to sit still with a bad itchy ear that you can't scratch. Though I have a ton of other...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

I see you used to use the Mack's Ultra Soft, but it appears now you are using earSoft FX? Just curious why the change? Or do you just buy whatever foam earplugs are available when you need to reorder? I've been using the Mack's Slim Soft as I guess I have smaller ear canals. They are...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

When you did your thoracic spine MRI in the Canon Orian 1.5T MRI machine, did they put your head in a coil? If so, did your earmuffs fit inside the coil? The place I'm going to get my MRI at said they normally have to put your head in a coil and that earmuffs won't fit inside the coil. But then...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

Part of the reason I'm nervous is because I have a lot of health problems, like a fractured back and bulging discs going into my spinal cord causing partial paralysis, so I don't know if my back will get to bothering me lying there. And I'm severely ill with horrible arthritis, a bad case of...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

If you were needing just a regular MRI, then next time look for a Toshiba/Canon MRI that is a wide bore, i.e. 71mm wide inside, as it should be quieter. I use the Mack's slim ultra soft purple earplugs. The trick is you roll it small in your hands like you are setting a fire. Then with one hand...

How to Get the Quietest MRI Experience?

What was the MRI machine's model? And what brand pink earplugs are you referring to?
