Cup your ears with your fingers facing backwards and cross your index and middle finger and tap in the base of your skull a few times ... instant relief but it doesn't last. I used to take turmeric in the past before I developed to tinnitus but stopped ... I'm reading all your comments about it...
Hi all,
Well I'm getting TMJ physio for what my ENT says is musculoskeletal tinnitus and so far it's been helpful and the ringing has somewhat died down a bit.
Although I've noticed it's very loud and high pitched in my right ear as soon as I step out of the shower. After I use a hairdryer it...
Martin NYC I saw The best ENT in my city and he said straight away is musculoskeletal. I was convinced it was caused by allergies .... the audiologist yes was above normal for my age. The dentist said it's not worth wearing a splint as many don't tolerate it but I'm pretty sure exercises will...
My situation exactly and I'm starting physiotherapy for it on Monday and very positive it will get better... by the way Valium helps too which proves it's tension and stress related.
I wake up with an alarm ringing in my right ear but as soon as I get up and stretch my neck it goes away or dies down to a faint hiss. Definitely tension in the neck from bad sleeping position or jaw clenching ... who knows what I do when I'm asleep
I've seen an excellent ENT in Brisbane he said straight away it's musculoskeletal bruxism and neck tension. This doctor is the best his name is Andrew Lomas.

I saw an ENT today. He's THE best one in my city.
He said my hearing is normal and after checking everything, he said I grind my teeth which I know I do because my dentist mentioned it last year.
He recommends getting a splint and seeing a dental physiotherapist which I will definitely do...
Really likes reading your story and very interesting too ... hopefully you will get better and it's just a phase due to stress etc. Mine is mild too ... I seem to hear it only when in my bedroom lying down (I wake up with ringing that goes away as soon as I stand up and start moving my neck)...
The audiologist explained that the cochlea has sodium inside it and eating too much salt upsets the balance and that's why a low sodium diet helps people with tinnitus and Ménière's disease too
I have developed Eustachian tube dysfunction from catching colds and I believe it's caused my tinnitus because I first noticed the ringing after catching two colds within a month and I also get very bad ear pain and blockage when the airplane is landing ... have been on 11 flights this year and...
