Notched Music Therapy (DIY, AudioNotch, etc.)

That's the $64,000 question. There are treatments built on both the assumption that inserting signals at the tinnitus frequency will calm your brain from the need to add the buzz at the missing frequency, and that cutting out all of the frequency of your tinnitus and a certain amount each way...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

For me, I came from broadcasting and my "hiss" level is the same as tape hiss which I learned from broadcasting was around 8khz. I can't hear anything past 12K, but I'm in my 50s so that's not so bad. 20-20khz hearing is unfortunately for the young.

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

I've tried it at work today and it's either helping or I'm having a good T day. Either way it's a welcome relief!

Give It Time. Tinnitus Gets Better.

I'm new, still getting the lay of the land. I do know from Psychology that behaviors that are positively reinforced become stronger, those that are not given positive reinforcement eventually extinguish. Positive enforcement is not "good thoughts". Positive reinforcement is any thought that...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: Do It Yourself Guide

I tried the free tool twice. My tinnitus frequency is around 8400, so pretty high. I did it for the last half hour from work. I had a solid minute of silence followed by the loudest tinnitus I've experienced and out of both ears. I came home and was able to use it around 45 minutes and after...

    Howdy All!

It's a bit sad, but I'm on week 2 of my regimen of listening to notched music with vagus nerve stimulation and my tinnitus is now louder. I realize this could be perception because of paying attention to the tinnitus, but it seems worse. I've been wanting to discuss what I see as 2 opposing...

Spike in Tinnitus Due to a Slap

I had that happen to me. My 8 year old was horse-playing around with me and he hit me in the ear that normally does not act up. It created a ringing that lasted all evening but eventually calmed back down (though now I seem to have more tinnitus activity out of the left ear, but not often.)

    Howdy All!

My name is Bill... and I have Tinnitus! It began about year and a half ago. I asked for a referral and was sent to an audiologist who said I had a bunch of hearing loss in my right ear (where 85-100% of my tinnitus occurs depending on the day.) While I went to my share of concerts in the day...
