I'm 62 , musician. Had mild tinnitus for 20 years but took a turn for the worse after sudden hearing loss in left ear. Audiologist says moderate hearing loss in left and mild in right. I have crummy days and half decent days. I've learned to habituate as best as possible through distraction , staying busy , acceptance , and loud fans at night ..
Update : an MRI reveled an acoustic neuroma. It's been the culprit. I've now had 2 mri's in 6 months and the second one showed no growth which is good news ! It won't help my T but I'm ok with that cause the alternative is much worse . I've habituated pretty well to loud T. After 2 years I've adjusted. I still have some decent days where the volume tones down. It's like a mini vacation !!
