    Got it with a malfunctioning synthesiser where the right ear wasn't at the level it was suppose to be on. One loud ultrasonic blast and the T appeared. It was a constant loud higher pitch sound but now a static when close to a air conditioner/engine.

    Yup, that's how I got my permanent spike. Thought to have it set at 30 to 40% but the soundcard was faulty and blasted my right ear at 90 DB supersonic level.

    My hearing aids doesn't aggravate my tinnitus, only certain sounds. An audiologist can adjust your aids to tone down frequencies that hurt your ears. Headphones playing music can say that they are at 60 to 70 db but I noticed that some freq are at 100 db to make them heard over a heavy bass...

    Was 2 when infected with Spinal Meningitis. Always scared me as a kid with this strange whistling in the night when the hearing aids came off for bed. Had gotten used to it until an accident cause a severe spike that tapered off to baseline over a year.

    They usually have a scope to look in to see the foam is inserted perfectly so there very little risk of the thick mold seeping onto you eardrum.

    It was more of an mild irritation than pain if the audiologist is careful. The foam is actually very soft and doesn't hurt the eardrum while protecting it from the mold from ripping it out while pulling the mold out.

    Yes, but a couple nights without earplugs will bring your ear canal back to it's normal shape.

    I used to play soothing sounds softly over the night but found myself unable to hear unless I set a time limit to let my ears adjust to the silence.

    I had a loud piercing tinnitus for a year after a high pitch 105 Db tone which I could not hear went off near my exposed ear. It basically disappeared one day though loud machinery distort my hearing for a bit before resetting to normal.

    Fleeting tinnitus, perfectly normal. I get those once every few months even in complete silence.

    I'm already a year of healing where in the beginning, I had extreme buzzing in the brain plus loud ringing. Now I only get ringing if I watch too many movies and only annoyed by high volume engines making crickets in my ear.
