Motorcycle Riding (Wind Noise) Induced Tinnitus — Starting to Get Worried

Hi, I have had a few spikes riding my motorcycle and they always went down after a few weeks. You were totally protected so the risk of you having damaged your ears is really small. It's the anxiety over this event prolonging your spike. I have had this so many times. What helped me was...

Listening to Music on Headphones While Also Wearing Earplugs?

I've been doing this for a long time on my motorcycle helmet and never had any problems. I use earplugs and Bluetooth system because it distracts my tinnitus when plugged up.

Motorcycle Riding — What Decibel (dB) Levels Can One Be Exposed to via Bone Conduction?

I understand what you mean but the sound is coming from behind you in the first place (exhaust). The moment I ride my bike faster as 50 km/h I don't hear the engine anymore, only the wind, except in a tunnel...

Motorcycle Riding — What Decibel (dB) Levels Can One Be Exposed to via Bone Conduction?

I ride a Triumph Thruxton. You really shouldn't be worried about the noise of your bike, I did so many tests with mine measuring the decibels with an adjusted meter with different helmets and speeds. The sound of your exhausts is nothing to worry about because it travels behind you. The problem...

Is Skateboarding a Safe Sport to Pursue for Someone with Tinnitus?

I've been a skater for 25 years, the only place to watch out for is indoor skateparks, I did some measurements and they easily go up to 90 dB. I only wear earplugs in skateparks and tend to avoid them as much as possible and skate outside as much as possible. I never had any problems so go...

    Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19) and Tinnitus

It's the asymptomatic part I am worried about, if this happens to relatively young people without symptoms what can happen to our already compromised ears when we get ill with symptoms?

    Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19) and Tinnitus

I found this post about a guy who had COVID-19 and started getting ringing in his ears. He didn't have tinnitus before COVID-19. He reported a moderate / severe form of tinnitus from what I've read. I asked him if he still had the ringing now and he said yes but that it was fading in and out...

What's Your Definition of Mild Tinnitus?

I'm not an expert but as far as I know occlusion effect can occur when you speak with plugs in and your speech is in certain lower frequencies amplified, I can't imagine this being the case on your motorcycle unless you were shouting the whole trip. I only once had a feeling of loud vibration...
