I know that many drugs can be ototoxic and can cause tinnitus, but I've never heard of them causing you to keep getting new tinnitus sounds as time goes on. That's what's been happening with me. I don't know if my tinnitus is caused by my Lexapro, but it started a few weeks after beginning it...

Meditation causing tinnitus, that's a new one! :) Referring specifically to Lexapro.

But can they cause new tinnitus sounds to keep appearing while you stay on the med?

I have been searching quite a while for info on this and coming up empty. Can a medication not only cause tinnitus, but ALSO make it continually worsen (in particular, make you continually get more and more new tinnitus sounds) while you remain on the med.?

Do spikes always go back down to baseline? If it seems like a spike, but the sound stays, is that considered a change to your baseline? I get new sounds that suddenly appear, so I'm wondering if they're "spikes" or not. Some go away, but return occasionally, and some sounds just stay.

Yes, and my hearing was normal. No hearing loss.
