    AC/DC

I have those same headphones - and ironically I had them for some time before ever getting T. Good monitoring phones for recording drummers.. When I first got T I would wear them a bit but they are a bit cumbersome for dragging out to gigs etc so I streamlined with the Peltor/3Ms.. I have a...

    Hyperacusis Gone!

I think H is probably temporary for most people. And the ones that get it for longer end up here.. Play it safe w headphones and loud music my friend and may H never ever come back..

    Well, It's Been a Pure Delight ...

I want to. I even downloaded an app that helps folks without inside writing skills format a book. My pal Larry U just released a self-published book of short stories which is inspiring. I'm playing with the idea to make it appear like a collection of distinct short stories, but in the end you...

    It's Been 2 Weeks and It's Changing?

Trying to figure out T's quirks is like trying to guess where a rainbow will appear.. Hopefully this is a temporary downswing on the way to full recovery. And if it's just a plain ole "better day" at least you know you got some of those coming too..

Is It Possible to Work with Power Tools?

There's no reason to stop doing any of this. In fact it's important not to let T defeat you that way.. Get a pair of comfy muffs for when the machines run..

Poll: Do You Drink Alcohol and/or Caffeinated Beverages and Do These Affect Your Mood?

What about Schweed? Don't drink but I do puff. It's tricky. Doesn't spike or hush T, but if you are concentrating on something else like a book or TV etc it helps put T right out of the forefront. Could also have dire opposite effect in some folks who haven't habituated at all..

Poll: Do You Drink Alcohol and/or Caffeinated Beverages and Do These Affect Your Mood?

I don't understand the question. Caffeine is awesome and terrible. I might get a slight temporary bump in T from it but I don't obsess about it.

ADEL Bubble — Stephen Ambrose (Inventor of In-Ear Monitors). This Just Blew My Mind.

These appear to simply be in-ear musician monitors.. High end ones mind you - but traditional.. Ambrose' tech features some sort of artificial eardrum that reactivates hearing in these people. - and the inflatable plugs are neat as well..

Is This Hyperacusis? Help, I'm New in Dallas

H presents itself as a much lower threshold to percussive sounds etc than you normally would have. There is an element of pain reaction to it. Imagine prior to any of this your wincing reaction to a fire alarm or something like a snare drum crack in too close proximity. With H you get the same...

    Well, It's Been a Pure Delight ...

Don't tell anyone but the "P" is silent. Pronounced "Tom". This gets him out of a jam at some point because in this world there is a famous book ancient called The Unending Lives of Ptam and Ptula.. The world thinks its a fable - and only a select few know the truth and how to pronounce the...

    Well, It's Been a Pure Delight ...

Haha thanks! I got infatuated with the idea of Ptam recognizing the beginnings of the apocalyptic end as out of nowhere the world realized there were no people older than 80, and in a couple of years nobody older than 65. That's when calamity takes hold. Within a decade nobody can live past 18...

    Well, It's Been a Pure Delight ...

If my book could be four pages I think might be able to get it done! Seriously though, it's presenting dialog and thoughts in comprehensive, understandable fashion that has always eluded me. I've read a few books that had good stories, but didn't have that part correct and made it difficult to...
