Thanks @glynis I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll keep posting throughout the year letting people know how I’m doing.

    University Freshers Week with Tinnitus

I was neither excited or nervous about coming to university. The only thing I was apprehensive about was whether my tinnitus and ears could handle the stresses and strains of freshers week. I’m sure all countries have some version of this but for those who don’t know, freshers week is the...

One Year On and Huge Improvements

@Shelly75 sorry for the slow reply as I've been extremely busy and must have forgot to put the thread on watch:rolleyes: Thank you for your support, it means so much to have people in the community give me so much backing!

One Year On and Huge Improvements

Thanks Bill for the support. I do completely understand where you are coming from with your comments. I agree with the disapproval only lasting a few moments hence I no longer find this embarrassing. With regards to over protection I personally don't "over protect" but I do believe you are...

One Year On and Huge Improvements

"This is what we started," the last song and line I ever heard before the ringing in my ears began, and little did I know what had just started. The music faded, the lights came up and immediately I knew I wouldn't shake this new sound that filled my ears and head. I've seen people describe T as...

How Loud Is Too Loud? 14-Year-Old New to Tinnitus

I can empathize with your son. Although I'm slightly older being 18 I'm still a teenager with tinnitus. At 5 weeks in I was just as terrified of the noise and the possible prospect of it never going away so that is perfectly normal. With regard to coping in school, I'd tell him not to worry too...

    Favourite Comedians

I had booked to go and see Peter Kay later this year and was gutted when he cancelled as I think he is hilarious. Almost finished watching all the episodes of the Ricky Gervais show with Karl Pilkington. So I thought I’d ask you guys for any suggestions of who to watch next? Personal...

    Live Support Groups Experiences?

Have to say all of you here at Tinnitus Talk have been amazing at helping me with tinnitus. However the person who helps me the most is my mother, she has tinnitus after a career in classical music and like everyone here completely understands the problems that come with tinnitus. I believe...

    18th Birthday with Tinnitus

I'm the same with ear plugs in bars. Pubs are generally ok but that's likely due to the fact they are never full anymore which is a shame.

    18th Birthday with Tinnitus

@glynis thank you! And @Philippe79 I understand and agree with what you're saying. Sometimes it does just feel like bad luck. I don't think I'll miss out on much by not going to clubs as there are plenty of bars and pubs which I'll likely enjoy more.
