Did Anyone Else Have Ear Fullness Last for Months After Acoustic Trauma?

It wasn't acoustic trauma - but when my tinnitus started up it was accompanied with fullness in both ears (I only have tinnitus in my right ear). That lasted for about 4 days and then it broke, sadly the tinnitus decided to stay. There are times where it returns to both ears - in fact it...

Has Anyone Had Dental Filling Replaced 5 to 8 Months After Your Acoustic Trauma?

I had both a cavity replaced and a wisdom tooth pulled. Before both, I mentioned to the dentist that I had tinnitus and I was going to put an ear plug in - which I did solely as a precaution. Neither event spiked my tinnitus that I can remember. One very odd thing I noticed when I was getting...

    Change in Your Tinnitus Tone?

So the fullness subsided today - and the flutter pretty much disappeared. If I sit in a really quiet place, I can faintly hear it. One thing I noticed with the fullness - especially my right ear - was that I couldn't hear very well out of that ear. I was afraid I was going deaf...

1 Year and 5 Months of Tinnitus (Current State)

Good for you @Mario martz - you are inspiring. I had a rough night last night and hearing your story of positivity was very welcome today.

    Detox Diet

@John Meyers I went mostly vegetarian last year - I made exceptions if I was invited over to dinner where they were only serving meat. I didn't want to have to be that person who required extra fussing. It wasn't that difficult - altho I found myself eating more of stuff that I know now to be...

    Change in Your Tinnitus Tone?

Old post, I know. I've had mild tinnitus for about 14 years in my right ear. It was solid tone, in the 4k-6k range. The tone got louder over the years - but not terrible. In April I started getting a new form - a louder, less solid tone - more of a hiss. Then I was getting a high...

    Chapter 7: Exercise and Nutrition

I have found that exercise before going to bed has greatly helped with sleep issues. I will regularly take an hour walk, or go to the gym a couple hours before bed. I also just feel better in general which helps with anxiety, etc.

Do Any of You Meditate? How Do You Handle the Tinnitus While Meditating?

I started meditating about 10 days ago and I've found some benefit. I use an app called Headspace - altho there are others (Calm, etc). You can try for 10 days free. I just finished my 10th free day today and ponied up the $50 something for a year. You might want to give that a try - at...

    Detox Diet

@John Meyers I think I'm watching that same documentary (on Netflix). I thought I was doing good by eating more fish, but there's mercury. I was having one or two drinks almost nightly when my tinnitus hit (April 2017). My doctor gave me xanax for anxiety, and some other meds to help me...

    Any Alternatives to Xanax?

I was prescribed xanax for anxiety as well (April 2017). I quickly got off them because I was concerned about addiction / dependence on any drug. Toward the end I was taking small doses at a time .25omg (.5mg split in half). I went about 7 weeks without one, and took another .25mg as I was...

Use of Alprazolam (Xanax) for Relief of Tinnitus — Post Your Experiences

I was prescribed Xanax early on for anxiety related to my tinnitus. I ended up using it mostly for sleep, which it really helped me with. I never took more than two 0.5mg tabs a day - eventually breaking the tablets in half and taking 0.25mg at a time. I eventually stopped taking them as I...

    Tinnitus Noise Experiments Project

I'm going to try this as well - probably not with headphones. I find that when I focus on things my tinnitus tends to diminish. First time thru this game it seemed to calm down a bit - probably due to my increased focus.

Do You Take NSAIDs (Aleve, Advil, etc.) or Do You Avoid Them Completely?

Early on when I was having trouble sleeping I would occasionally take an Advil PM. I had no issues that I can recall - it actually worked really good as a sleep aid. When I saw that Advil could possibly aggravate tinnitus, I started taking Tylenol instead - but I rarely take aspirin /...
