I would like to introduce myself my name is Katie but you can call me Kat. Yes I am 26 with Tinnitus I have Hearing Aids from Miracle Ear it's truly a Miracle! I was born with congenital hearing loss in my left ear. I have no hearing loss in my right ear. However I have always suffered from Tinnitus since the day I was born. School was so difficult for me, my Tinnitus is so bad I could barley concentrate on my exams or my homework. I was in speech therapy in Elementary school for 5 years it was so difficult for me to even learn to read. I just lived on because there was no technology I just worked on ways to cope like ignoring it and doing activities to help me distract my mind it was the only way out without hearing aids. In 2024 I decided to look up hearing aids for Tinnitus I was shocked to find out there was a technology! I worked hard, then when I felt like I was ready I went to Miracle Ear. I cried in the office I knew it was bad but now I know the details since December 2024. I'm missing 27 frequencies out of 48. Yes my Tinnitus is no joke! My doctor can see mine. I just cried, I got hearing aids now and there helping so much my speech has improved dramatically, I'm starting to have more energy, I can hear what people say in my left ear now, I'm exercising the left side of my brain (I wasn't at all before). It's really been an experience and I just want to thank all the doctors and scientists for making this happen for people like us. It does get better!
