A very loud bar! Even with earplugs.

Poll: Better and Worse Tinnitus Days, Do You Know the Phenomenon?

My most intense days are right after I've had a loud noise exposure. Very tough to get through and I'm always anxious that the sound won't return to baseline.

Noise-Induced Tinnitus: Nightclubs Are Too Loud!

Yes definitely do that, you'll feel much better for it :)

Music and Singing — Musicians Please Help!

I would say that you do need to be careful with loud sounds from here onwards, but don't let it completely stop you from doing what you love. I got tinnitus from clubbing at uni last year and it felt like my life was over because I didn't go clubbing any more. But I still went (and go) to...

The Best Advice I Ever Had re: Tinnitus...

They're definitely not a cure - agreed! But just thought I'd make aware for people that are in despair with their T that they aren't completely helpless and alone. They can seek treatment even if it's not the cure that we really want.

Music and Singing — Musicians Please Help!

Bill, your comment hardly qualifies as advice - it just simply would cause someone to have a lot of despair thinking that they now have to give up completely their hobbies and interests that mean a lot to them. I understand where you're coming from, but in my humble opinion you really need to...

The Best Advice I Ever Had re: Tinnitus...

Don't agree with this fully to be honest. The way you put it seems as if there's absolutely nothing that can be done for your T. Which isn't true. There's maskers, TRT, tinnitus-specific CBT, and a lot more treatment out there.

Noise-Induced Tinnitus: Nightclubs Are Too Loud!

Yeah I got them done! My ears feel much better now and the ringing has reduced a bit. In the end I went with water irrigation, which was done in a safe way by someone who had tinnitus herself. She knew what she was doing!

Does it ever get you down? And how do you maintain such a positive attitude? I think it's really admirable :)

When you say loud tinnitus, do you mean it's so loud that you hear it all the time? As in, it's at a 8/10 in terms of intensity?

A List of Places Where You Could Be Exposed to Loud Noises. Places to Watch Out for.

Bill I believe you are too paranoid about your T! Some tinnitus-specific CBT might help as it seems as if you have a ton of anxiety around a potential spike. These sounds are likely to do no permanent damage to your ears, but instead the anxiety will no doubt be damaging your mental health!

A List of Places Where You Could Be Exposed to Loud Noises. Places to Watch Out for.

In my opinion the advice on this thread should not be listened to. You're setting yourself up to get severe hyperacusis where every single type of noise results in a spike in T.

'The Noise Got Too Loud, Sorry' — Christopher Neile, 57, Killed Himself Waiting to Go to Dignitas

I completely agree with you. This forum, while helpful at times, can be a serious breeding ground for anxiety and despair. The majority of people who come on here are in a difficult place and the negativity can be overwhelming. I myself am guilty of being negative on here, which I am trying to...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus: Nightclubs Are Too Loud!

Will do! I’m actually going to go for manual removal. I had it done before and it was a bit painful, but I don’t trust microsuction or water irrigation due to their associated risks. Microsuction can damage hearing, and irrigation has been known to cause tinnitus

Noise-Induced Tinnitus: Nightclubs Are Too Loud!

Not great, to be quite honest. My T keeps getting louder! When I posted this almost a year ago, I had no idea what loud tinnitus really meant because right now my sound is far, far louder. Because the T has reached levels that are close to debilitating at times, I'm now taking proper steps to...
