    Accuracy of Hearing Test (Audiogram)?

In 2019, a study was conducted on 106 tinnitus patients with a normal audiogram. It showed that if a more accurate hearing test (fine frequency step, 1/24 octave) were carried out, many more tinnitus patients would be diagnosed with hearing loss. → Missed hearing loss in tinnitus patients with...

My Tinnitus Is 50% Gone Because of Nigella Sativa (Black Seed Oil)

Very nice that you found something that helped you. But before everyone rushes to buy black seed oil, I just want to share that I tried it some years ago for a couple of months and it didn't do anything positive (or negative) for my tinnitus or hyperacusis.

    Suicidal

It goes both ways. As someone with both very severe tinnitus and hyperacusis/noxacusis, I can attest that both things sucks big time in their own way, but if I could get rid of only one of them, I would choose the tinnitus without a doubt. I can deal with the pain and discomfort from noises much...

    N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)

I have taken a lot of NAC in powder form. It doesn't taste good, but it's not a problem at all to get it down. Just rinse your mouth with some water afterwards to get the bad taste away.

Fasting/Diet to Reduce Inflammation for Hyperacusis?

I'm also water fasting right now to see if it helps my tinnitus, hyperacusis and a few other things. Probably not, but there is only one way to find out. 5 days is the goal, but don't know if I can make it that far, never done it before. Right now I have been fasting for 70.5 hours, so 1.5...

    Suicidal

I do not encourage anyone to commit suicide, but it is clear that we all have a limit to how much torture we can endure. I would never use Pegasos or the like, too much stress involved (for me at least), unless you live nearby, but the method they use is without a doubt the most optimal and it...

Pain Hyperacusis in Relation to Acoustic Shock & Synapse Disconnection

Just ordered 200 x 30 mg tablets of Ambroxol. Will report back as well.

Yes I know, sorry. It was not my intention to offend you (don't know if I did).

    Suicidal

Why tinnitus, hyperacusis and noxacusis keep getting worse for some of us? For no apparent reason, when a lot of people do see improvements. This torture is no life to live. I wish I was a vet and had easy access to reliable end of life medication. If I was an animal I would have been put down...

    Suicidal

I'm in my early 30s and I do have two functioning legs, so technically I can leave my home, and I also do that when I have to go see my doctor or stuff like that. I can't go anywhere without hearing protection because of hyperacusis and noxacusis, unless I want ear pain and ear fullness for the...

    Suicidal

Yes. I do have severe hyperacusis loudness and noxacusis, but I can handle that much better than my catastrophic tinnitus. I can't leave my home, can't work, can't really do any of the things I want to. I still hope for a breakthrough in the future, but right now not much to look forward to...

    Suicidal

It will not, no need to try it. Sorry you are feeling this bad. I don't know for how long you have had this sound distortion. The only thing that has improved for me since it all started is my sound distortion. My tinnitus, hyperacusis and noxacusis on the other hand has deteriorated massively.

    Stock Market Chat

Maybe we could make a thread in the Benefactors' Corner so that not everyone can see it? Unless they become a Benefactor themselves. I don't know if you would feel better about it that way. At least if other "outsiders" want to see your advice they will have to support Tinnitus Talk first. I...

    Tinnitus Reduced by Mirtazapine (Remeron)

So you have only taken it once? Can't really conclude anything out of that.
