@MAH1970 Hi. I just came across your profile and read that your T seems to be sensitive to Serotonin. Does your T calm down once you stop taking an AD?

Oh ya soon as I stop the antidepressants the noise will come back to baseline. And when my depression lifts which it does a few times a year, the seratonin levels rise and my tinnitus goes through the roof just as it does when I take antidepressants. Def related

    Tinnitus Since:
    2021
    Cause of Tinnitus:
Perhaps either TMS or COVID-19 vaccine
I have had tinnitus since May 2021, after having TMS and the vacine. Not sure what it was exactly but the tinnitus came on and then a long serioes of detached retina surgeries. (6 total) and my tinnitus is very loud and is usually intermittent (on 3 days off 1-2 days)
My big struggle is I have depression and it seems my tinnitus hates the pills as soon as I take them and they start to work the loudness goes very very high to where it sets off my blood pressure and many other body issues. There is no sleeping when it spikes like that and it goes for days. It seems anything that affects seratonin makes my tinnitus louder. I also notice that when I lay down or relax my noise goes louder or if I eat something.

My name is Mike and I have had tinnitus for almost 2 years and haven’t habituated yet. I’m struggling to find the right medication as for some reason anything that affect seretonin seems to make my tinnitus go scary loud. I have very high anxiety and when I took ativan I did habituate cause it calmed me down but can’t stay on that forever and I did have really bad suicidal thoughts coming off it so I’m scared to go there again. I’ve tried a lot of meds but can’t seem to find one that can help me with my major depression as well as anxiety. Thank you so much for reading this I would so appreciate any ideas.
