Tinnitus from Concert with Concussion — Anyone Had a Similar Experience?

Yes my tinnitus (static white noise) is from a concussion in a car accident. I worked in a quiet office environment and never wore head-phones. I rarely attended concerts -- don't like crowds. So I'm sure my T is not from loud noise. My tinnitus started at the scene of the car accident -- I...

Car Accident, Tinnitus and Post-Concussion Syndrome

My T is from concussion & whiplash. Started at scene of car accident. I believe T is largely due to the brain, so I would bet on the concussion. Though, when I'm tired or sick, my T is always worse.

1 Month Tinnitus Milestone — Need Advice, Positivity

One month point is a time when many people start to freak out. It's because you start to realize this may not go away. This causes anxiety which makes the T even worse . Think of it as mourning the loss of the "old normal" . In time, having tinnitus will become the "new normal". You will...

    Cycling and Tinnitus?

I sometimes cycle to work. I find the wind comforting. It takes my mind off the tinnitus. It also takes the edge off my tinnitus. And being healthy always helps.

Am I Just Fixated on Hearing a Soft Ringing or Do I Actually Have Tinnitus?

I disagree. I worked as a software engineer in quiet office environments, never wore headphones, and rarely went to concerts. My T is from a concussion. I think people focus too much on ears & hearing because of the "sound", and not enough on how perception comes from the brain.

    Car Accident Started It All

My tinnitus is from a car accident too. Like you, I was completely stopped at a stop sign. It was a T-intersection, and I was leaned forward, looking left while waiting for a car to pass. Then without warning, a teenage kid in a muscle car rear-ended me. Concussion & whiplash. Tinnitus...

Going on 7 Weeks of Tinnitus

A lot of people assign tinnitus to the ears, but just so happens that I had my hearing checked months before the accident. And my tinnitus started at the scene of the accident. First time I ever experienced it, and it never went away, though it fluctuates. I have good weeks and bad weeks. A...

Going on 7 Weeks of Tinnitus

Same here -- concussion from a car accident years ago. Mine fluctuates from intense to mild. On mild days, it usually settles into my left ear. On intense days, it's from top of my head. Another side effect of my concussion is head-aches. I never complained about head-aches before my...

    Hi... Tinnitus Is Insane!

You are just two months into it, and that's a time when many people become the most anxious. It's a time when people realize that it might not just "go away" and their anxiety kicks into high gear. It's good to get checked out, but doctor appointments and tests also add to the stress. Just...

Head Buzz Tinnitus Completely Gone in the Mornings

Yep, I had minor hearing loss, but never tinnitus. The tinnitus started immediately after a concussion in a car accident. Hearing tests before & after the accident showed no change in hearing. My tinnitus is static and all over my head. It often feels like it is coming from the top of my...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus — Positive Success Stories

Whatever they are -- they correct the fullness in my ears. And I am able to hear in meetings where I would otherwise be struggling. They are not perfect, but they help me a lot. Plus relieve tinnitus too -- because I am picking up more external sounds. Yeah, it sucks that they are...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus — Positive Success Stories

He said he had hearing loss and fullness. I have hearing loss and fullness too and hearing aids make the fullness go away. I know this, because I put the hearing aids in, and fullness go away. I take them out, and fullness returns. It is not rocket science. And no, people are not better off...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus — Positive Success Stories

The fullness in your ears is due to hearing loss. I have hearing loss, and my ears feel full too. Here is the good news: Hearing aids will correct fullness. They are small and hardly visible at all. Some even come with bluetooth, so you can use with your phone. As soon as you wear them...

Freaking Out — Tinnitus After Traumatic Head/Brain Injury — Trying to Stay Calm

You should be able to do all those things. It's normal to feel frustration at first, because the sound is still foreign to you. As you accept it, it gradually becomes a part of you. You may make adjustments -- Los Angeles has a lot of bars & restaurants, so if you're anything like me, you'll...
