Just wanted to share what I use to help me sleep. Right beside my bed I have a Honeywell HFD110 QuietClean Air Purifier. I've used it every night for years and now I can't sleep without it. It makes a calm white noise and also the cool breeze feels nice on my face. Not sure how effective it is...

I think so too, all of my hearing loss is in the high frequency range above 8kHz. My tinnitus is extremely high pitched, somewhere in the realm of 14-16kHz and about 40 decibels in volume. The inclusion criteria listed on clinicaltrials.gov is so vague and subjective... all it says is...

I was 22 when I got my tinnitus. I'm 29 now. Having spent most of my 20's with moderately severe tinnitus, I wish I could tell you that it gets better over time, but it does not. It is always the same. Sometimes it spikes and gets a little bit worse, but it always returns to the same baseline...

Here is exactly the response I got: I then asked if they could give me a more specific reason and got this response:

Well friends, I applied for the FX-322 clinical trial, but I was rejected. I had an extended audiogram done up to 16kHz, but no dice. They wouldn't give me any specific details on why I don't meet the inclusion criteria either. I can't say I'm surprised, but I am disappointed.

LLLT is unfortunately useless for treating tinnitus. I learned this the hard way. I want to apply but I fear I would be rejected too because I have negligible hearing loss, and the hearing loss that I have seems to be above 13 kHz (very high pitch).

I am curious why it matters at all whether the tinnitus is somatic or not for the purpose of Dr. Shore's treatment. If the source of tinnitus is the dorsal cochlear nucleus as she claims, why would bimodal stimulation not work for people with non-somatic tinnitus? The most I could find on this...

Thank you for posting this, I wasn't sure if my tinnitus is somatic or not, but I now notice it gets louder and higher pitch if I push my jaw forward or if I yawn or stretch.

When on my computer I use big studio monitor headphones (Beyerdynamic DT770's) at a very low volume, and I've been doing so for years. They do not make my tinnitus any worse and do not fatigue my ears. They are also great for listening to neuromodulation sounds like ACRN and mynoise.net. I think...

@vlad2019 I'm inclined to say don't bother. If you've had your tinnitus for several years it is very unlikely that LLLT will make any long lasting improvement. What it will do is warm up your ear canal and potentially your inner ear in much the same way a heat lamp works, which feels nice and...
