My Story with a Happy Ending

Thanks for your concern. As much as I like hope, I dislike false hope even more. However, I suspect many members of Tinnitus-Talk prefer false hope. Or so it seems to me............... P.S. I believe you will win the lottery tomorrow.

My Story with a Happy Ending

I doubt it went. Someone having a "doubtful" mood and writing 16 messages upon registration with a tinnitus-forum probably still has tinnitus (pretty bad).

No Government or Health Department Reads These Forums

Dude... there is an endless number of people (politicians and otherwise) suffering from tinnitus. Now and 20 years ago. Just like there is an endless number of people suffering from cancer and degenerative diseases of the CNS (and many other "things").

No Government or Health Department Reads These Forums

Jack Straw (former interior minister in the UK) developed severe tinnitus after sudden hearing loss on a flight. Bill Clinton (former US president) has tinnitus. Mrs. Carter (former US first lady) has tinnitus. Martin McGuinness (deputy prime minister of Ireland) has tinnitus. ...and the list...

My Trip to Bangkok: Stem Cell Treatment [Comments]

Agree on all points. but in addition, I would say that one extra worthwhile point to ask would be: what was the result in terms of tinnitus improvement? And why not state it in the first place...

My Trip to Bangkok: Stem Cell Treatment [Comments]

Hey - you are free to choose what you want to believe. if you ask me however, I would be more concerned about an infrequent poster suddenly making an entry about a stem cell treatment after no activity since december 2014 seems weird that someone would join the board after no activity for a...

Wading through all the half-brain posts on an Internet forum, two specific quotes come to my mind (I wonder why):

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

No, you didn't say anything about LASIK. I did. But, you stated that... ...and I am letting you know that there is no such thing as floaters on the surface of the eye (from the point of view of laser surgery). You clearly have no knowledge of the subject at hand, and so why not just stay out...

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

Floaters "float" inside the vitreous (the jelly-like substance of the eyeball), not on "the surface of the eye" - whatever it is you are referring to (the cornea, presumably). Laser surgery in relation to eye floaters has nothing to do with eyesight correction of the cornea (so-called LASIK...

Studies Confirm Tinnitus Improves Over Time

Reading through a random 25 introduction posts on this forum will leave the average reader with the impression that tinnitus will get better with time (never a shortage of members to point that out) - here is a prime example...

    Everything Is Much Louder Now

Well, "Dr. Google" does a better (and also more prepared) job of explaining that. Hyperacusis is sensitivity to everyday sounds (that would not cause irritation in healthy people). Tinnitus is commonly correlated with hyperacusis (but not always). Here is an extreme example of what it is like...

Sounds like you have developed hyperacusis.

AM-101 Clinical Trial — Participants Updates and Discussion

Well, you can calculate it backwards from this slide in the recently released material pertaining to the Needham Healthcare Conference held earlier this year: Market potential = 750M dollars (for an associated 250,000 ears). That's $3000 / ear (and hence where the $6000,- figure comes from I...
