New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

Thank you for clarifying this for the discussion. It always amazes me how people read into things ‘what they want’ when all that matters is facts. Of course, we all hope that increased duration will lead to better results, but this is, of course, positive speculation.

You cannot say it’s physiological without an objective measure I’m afraid, and there isn’t one.

You can find studies on all the previous treatments that have had positive results. However, these never translated to real-world experiences. There is nothing wrong with positivity, but there is also nothing wrong with healthy cautiousness.

Thanks to all those who responded to my question. It all looks too familiar with other studies' results (I know they had a control group on this one), which materialized in disappointment in ‘real world’ cases. It always seems to be around 60% of respondents and slightly higher than placebo (I...

I was on the Lenire study like a hawk. However, I am a bit behind with the latest study with Dr. Shore. Apologies if this has been answered before. I have just been reading through the second trial results, which look ‘too good to be true. ' However, what was the percentage of responders out of...

Reformulated Retigabine (Trobalt): BHV-7000, a Kv7.2 Modulator by Biohaven (Pfizer)

With biotechs, the odds are stacked against you. 1/10 drugs are successful across the industry as a whole, but it’s even wider with more complex drugs (an example would be Alzheimer’s drugs). The thing that got me with Frequency Therapeutics was the comment made, I think by Christopher Loose...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Sure, if I had money to throw away. I never went for Lenire. But I followed them from the start when it was called MuteButton. It was exciting but it wasn’t the great success it was speculated to be. Personally, it makes much more sense to wait for Dr Shore’s device but, even then, I will be...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

There’s a difference between being pessimistic and showing a healthy amount of skepticism. Dr. Shore admitted herself in one of her videos that there is a strong placebo effect in tinnitus trials, along with tinnitus being subjective and having no objective measure of it. I will also add, even...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

What I don’t understand from Dr. Shore’s work is this (I know we are still waiting for the results from the Phase 2): Lenire showed similar results but it did not translate to the real world going by Tinnitus Talk user experiences. I know Dr. Shore is using a control group unlike Lenire...

    Can Mirtazapine Affect Tinnitus?

Mirtazapine is not an SNRI - are you thinking of Venlafaxine? This Dr. De Ridder guy is again chatting bollocks.
