Six and a Half Weeks Now

When I went to to my first ENT, he said most clinics don't test in the high end, but he does....so I am taking what he was telling me.. I saw mine, really high end, totally deaf, but I hear speech and most other normal noises.... I heard about it from an interview with William Shatner, (Star...

Six and a Half Weeks Now

I think we all have some hearing loss, mine is in the ultra high frequencies, some audiologist don't go super high when testing b/c hearing aids are useless in that range. You are still early and it could still go away... if it persist for more than 6 months, it could be a keeper... the...

    Newbie :)

WOW.. there seems to be an endless, senseless reasons to start the T, some similar, some not so much, but there must be some thing that is common, but that is the great mystery and probably why the cure/treatment is so hard to find. Hope yours goes away soon, I had the slight migraines, they...

Since I got the T, (maybe had it forever who knows) but the people I met all said the same thing, in time you forget about it.... how can we forget about it, if we constantly remind ourselves we have it..... I stayed off website for a year to let me forget about it... lurking on these sites can...

    How to Reduce Your Tinnitus

It changed mine from 3 different types of perceived sound (hiss, ring, flutter/hiss) to one lower ring... Tinnitus is a brain issue, not an ear issue... the issue with the ear often cause the T, but my T isn't being perceived as a sound by my outer ear .. and sent to my auditory system its at...

I'm New Here — Any Advice Appreciated

I think T is different to everyone, and what ever makes YOU feel better is a good thing... no Sleep and T goes nuts..... do what ever it takes to get a good night sleep, and also do anything to stop focusing on the T, it will fall back in your brain in time, habituation is different to...

    How to Reduce Your Tinnitus

There is no volume in Tinnitus.... just perception, and I agree Neuromonics is a business, but so are all the hospitals I have even been to, I really don't think anyone is willing to spend any of there hard earned money finding a treatment they don't need when you won't spend any money on the...

    How to Reduce Your Tinnitus

I think you can drop all of the thing you ingest, and stick with Neuromonics, (Sound Therapy) ... I did it, and my reaction change, since we don't hear a sound, I don't believe to say the volume dropped is accurate, but to say my reaction to the sound has changed is a better descriptor..... IMO

    Tinnitus Masking: In-Ear Maskers

I read an interview with William Shatner, (Captain Kirk from Star Trek) he said he wore a white noise ear generator for 3 years, night and day to help habituate his T. He said in and interview with David Letterman, his T was very bad at first, now he don't notice it. Even David Letterman...

MDMA (a Component of Ecstacy) Potential for the Treatment of Tinnitus

I think if the substance is prescribed and has been proven to provide some medical benefit, I think it would be allowed. My girl friend takes Morphine, Oxycodone, and a few others that have scrips monitored by the DEA, for pain. In short it would have to be proven to provide some medical...

    Neuromonics

I did the same thing and totally agree with you. We hope there will be a cure, but as I recall, when I started to lose my hair some 30 years ago, there was a CURE only 5 years away. Well now its a dead issue to me because I don't care, I guess I habituated to my hair loss..:)... but there are...

New to Tinnitus... And Going Crazy :(

I don't think T has volume, in the same sense of a normal percussion wave our ears detect and turn into a sound, but I really think when we begin to habituate, our brain pays less attention to it, and is no longer afraid of it, and the volume, in a sense lowers, that is why I say, don't fret...

In the beginning we are all wired to the point of exploding....mainly anxiety and lack of sleep, first order of business do what ever it takes to sleep, even get Xanax, its a psych drug....but it shuts the brain down at night and you sleep really good. All of your stress and anxiety feeds the...
