    Coming Into New Awareness

Using the scale from the below link, it was probably a 6.5 (could hear in a very loud Starbucks but did not need masking to sleep) and has been at 2 for awhile (year +). https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/tinnitus-loudness-scale.6873/ From my own notes, back on page 3, when I first got T it...

    Coming Into New Awareness

A bit late, but this is the THREE YEAR UPDATE Surviving, doing pretty well. The T is day to day variable but pretty quiet. Compared to the rumble of our refrigerator, the nose is usually less than 10% of that. Sometimes it's close to zero too, but it never stays totally away for long...

Is Tinnitus Related to Blood Pressure — What Medications Can I Take?

I was put on blood pressure medicine 8 years before an event caused T. The medicine didn't cause T for me. However, I think elevated BP does aggravate T for me. Nowadays, almost three years in with T, at night if I can hear the blood pumping though my head/veins then T is a bit elevated...

Retraining Brain to Forget Frequency of Tinnitus — White Noise Sound Machine vs. Physical Fan?

If you want to experiment with some noises besides that of a fan try..... Background Noises • Ambient Sounds • Relaxing Music | myNoise ® They have lots of sounds. I used it for awhile and also made custom combinations (or open more than one in other tabs).

    Coming Into New Awareness

Thanks @Lane ! I do know there are some sites that tested for quiet tires, and that was something that concerned e on the Honda when I needed some replacements after T, so I just , at the time, bought the same as I had before. Interesting to hear of that protectorant. Many happy days to you.

Tinnitus for 5 Months from Testing My Hearing with Pure Tones on My Headphones and Speakers

Hang tough and the days will pass. The T may get better, or change, and you will change. Just keep hanging in there.

New Onset 13kHz Tinnitus: Could Flarex (Fluorometholone) Be the Cause?

@Mattly I found early on that I could play a sound that matched my T and make it disappear for a bit. So I used sound frequency generator sites, and then also would use General Fuzz'a ACRN either to blip the sound or to use the ACRN pattern around the sound. I also used an iphone app that can...

Shotgun Blast Caused Tinnitus, Clogged Feeling and Sound Sensitivity

I got my tinnitus from a gun range. I had earmuffs on, but I was next to a rifle lane and they shot something several times that was tremendously loud that buffeted me. I'm not sure if it's helpful but in the following post is a graph of how my tinnitus came down. So within a month it had...

    Coming Into New Awareness

At the 2.5 year mark! Not much to say. The Pandemic has had me up and down in activity and sometimes also in spirit. Tinnitus has been mostly quiet but a few medium-loud instances that last 2-3 days, then back to it's fairly low level. Had one weekend involved in some very stressful work...

    Coming Into New Awareness

So YAY, made the 2 year mark. Right now, the T is pretty variable day to day, from almost quiet to moderate. In a given week, I might have 2 very quiet days, 2 low volume days and 2-3 moderate high volume. Yesterday was moderately noisy, this morning woke up and it was low volume, then took...

    Coming Into New Awareness

Yes it is crazy, and I've looked into the process and spoken with some powers that be. Their basic answer is that the ushers provide foam earplugs if requested. My position is that they should not contribute to hearing loss, damage being a cumulative thing. When you consider the church...

    Coming Into New Awareness

Earlier in the month of January, my wife and I headed to our church for a kids education celebration event. It was really quite fun and one of the best, funniest things I've seen. But wouldn't you know, in the first half hour they provided a very loud song (most other things were skits or...

Why Is Tinnitus Not More Common? Loud Bars, Concerts, Restaurants...

As ear damage is a cumulative thing, you can just assume that those people attending are just in the damage accumulation phase, and sometime 10-20 years out, BAM! The other thing is something like 20% of the adult population has Tinnitus. But no one talks about it. And to add to that, one...

    Coming Into New Awareness

Kind of an end of year update. I've lately been having up and down varying T, and I think it goes back to an event in November. Back in 2019 I wound up flying twice, in the Summer and October and think I did fine through those events, despite my fears and misgivings. I prepared for the flying...

Tinnitus from a Slap When 6-7 Men Attacked Me and My Friend

My T is far lower, but I am also almost 20 months out from the event, I can't know how much decline there was from naturally factors or the other things I've done and taken. I actually argued with myself about getting the prednisone at all at the time. Like maybe it will go away on its own...
