Share Your Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccine Experience: Any Impact on Your Tinnitus or Hyperacusis?

My tinnitus spiked pretty bad 3 days after my first dose of Pfizer as well. After 3-4 weeks it settled back down to near my pre-vaccine baseline. I ended up delaying the second dose a week to give more buffer time. Just got my second dose yesterday and had an immediate spike. I'm hoping that...

Share Your Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccine Experience: Any Impact on Your Tinnitus or Hyperacusis?

I got my first dose of Pfizer on Thursday March 25th. The following Monday (3/29) I got a moderate tinnitus spike that has lasted about a week. The past 3 days things seem to be improving, similar to @jjflyman. If things continue to fade back down to baseline, I still plan to get the second...

Will You Get Vaccinated for Coronavirus (COVID-19)? Can It Make Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Worse?

@kingsfan, I went ahead and got the Pfizer last week. I'm going to report back in a few weeks on any impact to my tinnitus. My thought process is that there seems to be more supporting evidence of COVID-19 itself causing increase than the vaccine, so I chose the lesser of 2 evils. Sucks that we...

Poll: Is Your Tinnitus Better or Worse in the Morning? And Do You Listen to Sounds Overnight?

My tinnitus is definitely better in the morning. I currently sleep with white noise, but for a long time I didn’t and it was still quieter in the am.

    Tinnitus After Giving Birth

@Kirstystired buzzing is good. Usually the healing process goes 1) ringing 2) buzzing 3) hissing 4) silence sometimes a soft hiss is the best you’ll get, but I’ve seen many stories of people’s T that kept healing after the hiss and they got silence back Good luck and congrats on your child

Tinnitus Since 1995 from Medication, Now I Also Have Intensified Pulsatile Tinnitus

Hi @Theresa A I’m sorry you are dealing with this, but you are definitely not alone. We are all going through it together. I left you a message on the other thread regarding your new pulse sound

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

@Theresa A Are the new sounds rhythmic to your heartbeat? I believe pulsatile T is commonly associated with something physical that can be treated. (ie increases blood pressure, etc). Could it be that you are more stressed and have higher blood pressure due to lack of sleep?

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

PS - it’s pretty common for it to take many months for tinnitus fade (especially after initial onset). I say that not to depress you, but to give you hope. It’s very easy to lose patience and get depressed with lack of progress. Stay positive and keep believing that it will fade.

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

Hi @Tara Lyons Do you mean that it’s quieter / less intense now with earplugs than it used to be? Or that it’s quieter with earplugs in than without? If it’s the first, then yes, I would say that means it is fading. If it’s the second, it sounds like you may still be dealing with...

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

That’s great that it’s improving. I think that’s a really good sign. And I’m glad you are protecting your ears. I completely get what you mean about not feeling like yourself and not being happy. The first months are a living hell. And nobody really understands what you’re going through...

My Ear Ringing Is Never a Single Tone...

@Tara Lyons Yep - tinnitus sucks. Can't understand it unless you have it. It's also very frustrating that the doctors aren't any help... Has your T steadied at all or is it still all over the place? Mine was also very chaotic for the first several months, but eventually evened out and...
