    Introducing Noise for Hyperacusis

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I rarely go to these forums nowadays. I was prescribed something called Oxamin/Opamox for relaxing/sleep and SSRIs for depression. What I forgot to mention was that usually something like going to a grocery store was alright (although I was a bit anxious...

    Introducing Noise for Hyperacusis

As someone who used to get pain from noise I can give my two cents. After I got my tinnitus (from loud concerts), roughly 2 weeks afterwards I started getting pain from noise. It started slowly with stuff like plates and cups etc. hurt my ears, then the sound of my voice hurt me so I had talk...

@MattR I still come here every once and I while. I have few people to chat with here. I am planning to write a detailed post on September about my recovery etc. I think. It has now been around a year but I still want to wait for a while before making a post.

In case someone finds my posts regarding hyperacusis with pain, hidden hearing loss, tinnitus etc. I'm doing good now. No pain, used to my T

Hyperacusis Worsening Rapidly. Not Sure What to Do.

I never had much of loudness hyperacusis. Only ear pains (TTTS probably). I can only tell you what helped me: Daily walks in forests and outdoors (kept me from going insane indoors), medication (antidepressants (SSRI) and benzos), going to the gym (with ear plugs), reducing junk food and...

Hyperacusis Worsening Rapidly. Not Sure What to Do.

I am doing good. I made a update in a another thread. Tinnitus still exists (still mild) but hyperacusis/ear pains are now longer bothering me. Last time I had any ear pain was a 1h flight I took three weeks ago. Sadly I am still unable to hear in noisy situations. Life is quite normal now...

I'm Tired of the Ear Pain Discomfort

I use it rarely nowadays. I used it 2-3 times a day initially (I think the dose was quite low). At first I had hard time sleeping without it. Now I use it only if I feel very anxious.

I'm Tired of the Ear Pain Discomfort

I cannot agree more. My pain and tinnitus started escalating because I lost all hope. In my worst state even in complete silence my ears were burning. I used to be against antidepressants and benzos (I believe fixing your diet, exercise and having a meaning in your life are the best ways to...

I'm Tired of the Ear Pain Discomfort

SSRI called Seronil. I used called Opamox (the drug itself is called Oxazepam). My pain though was more stress related I think. I didn't feel much pain when I was shopping for example but when watching TV even on very low, talking, etc. I had a lot burning and stabbing pain in ears, face, jaw...

I'm Tired of the Ear Pain Discomfort

I had intense ear pain but it got better after I started antidepressants and benzos. Try to talk to someone and try to take walks outside if you can. Those helped me to get through the dark times.

Hyperacusis with Pain. I'm Losing It... Anyone Experience This Too?

An update if someone finds this thread later. Ear pains are almost gone. No more sharp pains, I have only experienced burning sensation in a movie theater and while flying since early august. T has not changed (mild) but the reduced ability to hear speech in noise is still an issue although I...

Going to Gym with Speakers — Experiences?

I have pretty much the same gym setup. Roughly 60db with the just the music. I have gone to gym without ear plugs but nowadays I go to gym with re-usable musician's ear plugs. My T temporarily raises slightly during the gym (I notice it when I go back to the changing room) but it goes back...

    I Need Hope

I am relatively new to tinnitus, so I don't know if I can give you any help, but I can try. This may seem obvious, but try to find someone you trust to talk to (I'm sure your boyfriend doesn't mind) and perhaps get in touch with a psychologist or psychiatrist. Antidepressants and some...
