Bupropion Induced Tinnitus — Reduced by 70%!

It's been four years and three months! Crazy. The tinnitus is still there, but it's a quiet hiss, easily covered by normal day-to-day sounds. I can go days and not think about it. I do go to nightclubs and bars - always with an earplug in my right ear. My LDL cholesterol is quite high (blood...

    3 Months Into Bupropion-Induced Tinnitus

I'm so sorry. This happened to me, too; you can check my thread. Mine did improve. And yes, there's a buzzing-like energy with the tinnitus. I think overactive neurons cause it.

Bupropion Induced Tinnitus — Reduced by 70%!

Update: - Right ear remains completely fine. Even at night clubs etc, there is no reaction/energy/buzz noise. - Left ear continues to have small improvements. When I'm out and about and there is background noise, I don't hear it at all - in fact I forget about tinnitus. Only in bed in silence...

I agree. Search for Bupropion and tinnitus. I have first hand experience of this.

Worse Tinnitus After Going to Nightclub

Hi @Forever hopeful, thank you for explaining. That's shocking especially as the concert was outdoors. So sorry. Praying for you that it reduces. High-pitched tinnitus is the worst. I may not attend this sporting event and get the person to sell my ticket online. it's not worth the risk.

Worse Tinnitus After Going to Nightclub

Hi @Forever hopeful, can you please explain futher what this means - because of the percussion (drums?) you had to remove the ear defenders? I don't understand why. I am considering using double protection for a sport event soon. Thanks.

Tinnitus for 1.5 Months After Music Festival — The Most Horrible Ailment I've Ever Suffered

Hi. So sorry you are here. I'm sure you will improve over time. I quoted this part as it seems critical - that something about your ears were always vulnerable. Try to keep busy and be out and about - it's loudest and most hopeless when you're shut away at home.

Bupropion Induced Tinnitus — Reduced by 70%!

Your good ear - did you keep exposing it to loud noise? And what got worse, the tinnitus or your hearing? I'll check your threads too to see if the answer is there.

Bupropion (Zyntabac) Gave Me Tinnitus On the 4th Day of Taking It

Hi @ma7555, thanks for the updates. 15% is still an improvement so please try to stay positive. As someone who is 2+ years in, it's great you have all of these treatment options available to you (Europe is not the same) but if you're switching between the meds to fast - how can you know what's...

Bupropion Induced Tinnitus — Reduced by 70%!

Month 29 Update - KEY WARNING SHARED For the first time since I got tinnitus, I went to a bar and there was a row of high grade speakers blasting music. I didn't wear earplugs because I got my tinnitus from medication and my audiogram was fine so loud noise doesn't affect me, right? WRONG! At...

Bupropion (Zyntabac) Gave Me Tinnitus On the 4th Day of Taking It

@ma7555, sorry you are here. So great you've documented all of the treatments that you tried. It seems that something may have worked when it stopped in one ear, and then returned? For me one ear stopped after a few months (I wasn't taking any meds) - but in your case maybe the Prednisolone...

Bupropion Induced Tinnitus — Reduced by 70%!

Take hope from me please. Mine hasn't stayed the same. It's improving. I think most people improve and that's why they don't come back to update on here. Mine started bilateral. I felt it all over my head but mostly in the ears. Now it's just in my left ear, it totally feels like it's in the...

Bupropion Induced Tinnitus — Reduced by 70%!

Month 25 update This update is later than usual and that's GOOD NEWS! Volume has reduced by 2 more times. More hiss, less ring & it takes up less energy in my head. Easier to ignore even in a silent room. Can pretty much work with no background noise. I see this thread has a lot of views, I...

Could SSRI (Escitalopram — Cipralex/Lexapro) Have Worsened My Tinnitus Over the Years?

You asked for an opinion - if I was in your shoes, I would taper off with under doctor's advice and stop. If you want to give the tinnitus a chance to stop, then it stands to reason to stop the medication and give your brain/ears a chance to recover.
