NeuroMed Tinnitus Program — Founded by Dr. Hamid Djalilian

The doctor still has no recommendations and says there is no cure or effective therapy yet. I’ve been seeing him for 16 years and trust him. Some people ask why I continue to go. The hearing exam is very advanced—each year, I receive a detailed graph showing all the ranges and any changes. Since...

    2024 US Presidential Election

People experience enough inflation every single day that the debate last night will be forgotten before the election. The Biden/Harris cluster**** sent inflation through the roof.

NeuroMed Tinnitus Program — Founded by Dr. Hamid Djalilian

I haven't been on here in a while. I still go annually to see a neuro-otolaryngologist who is highly regarded in his field. My next appointment is next month. I imagine that if I wanted to try Nortriptyline, he would prescribe it. However, I would never take such a medication. If you take that...

Poll: By How Much Does Tinnitus Affect Your Ability to Work?

Yes, you are correct that Tinnitus Talk seems to have more chronic sufferers. A poll will be lopsided. Tinnitus ruined the type of work I was in and made me change lines of work. I have always been self-employed and more or less made a lateral movement withing my line of work that got me away...

Effects of Long-Term Cardio Exercise vs. Short-Term Exercise on Tinnitus?

You should try a cross country ski machine, like the old original Nordic Track. I still use one regularly. You can find them on eBay or on Craigslist. It is a very vigorous workout with no impact.

Heavy metal? Are you trolling this forum? Unbelievable question if you have read this forum at all. You have tinnitus. Concerts are a thing of the past.

Recently Developed a Hissing Tinnitus Sound That Is in Sync with My Heartbeat

It doesn't sound like you have the typical noise induced tinnitus, for which there is no cure. It sounds like you may be lucky in that it is something to do with your sinuses. I bet a good ENT can help you.

    Music Still Sounds Broken

I mostly had to give up music. It wasn't as much of a loss to me as apparently to you. I can do without it except for during exercise. I never have music on in the car.

They use a manual scaler on me now. Try requesting that.

Tinnitus Louder Than Ever After a Family Argument Before Thanksgiving

First question is Yes for normal. Stress is likely the reason. Everyone on here wants an answer to the second question. Just don't go to the extreme that I've read some have. You'll be alright.

Home Renovation — Am I Overworrying About the Noise Levels?

If you are on one floor and the renovation is on another there should be no effect on your T at all. They aren't going to set off dynamite in your home. If you need to pass through wear ear protection. I've been around construction through the years. Jackhammers, tile saws, nail guns, and...

Running (Exercise in General) and Tinnitus

Anything that jars the brain can exacerbate Tinnitus. I would not run with T. There are plenty of other good exercises that don't jar the body.

    Stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin, and Vyvanse)

Adderall is a horrible med. It causes all kinds of problems. I have never taken it. But from what I can tell about one person on it, I think it should be banned. It alters sleep, mood, digestion, overall general attitude. I hate that shit!!

Poll: How Long Has Your Longest *Noise Induced* Tinnitus Spike Lasted?

I'm trying to guess the number of days it has ever settled down just a little. I can't quite put a number on it.
