Yeah there is no need to taper for courses <=7 days long. I would first ask your doctor if it's okay to stop. If he says it's okay, then I would probably stop after day 4 or 5 if you think it is not benefiting you much anymore and just save the rest in case of acoustic trauma in the future so...
