My Dad's Tinnitus Success Story — From a Loud Flute Down to a Hiss Heard in Dead Silence

Hey @ErikaS, just wondering what is your high frequency loss like? I have mild loss in the 6 kHz - 8 kHz range and I'm wondering if this means my tinnitus will never go away. Did you have a middle ear infection that caused your tinnitus? BTW, glad your dad saw an improvement over months /...

Who Here Has Habituated to High Frequency Tonal Tinnitus?

Don't most people have high frequency tinnitus because high frequency hearing loss is more common? And they say most people do habituate. Wouldn't that mean this answer is "yes"?

What Is TRT and When Should It Be Started?

Yeah, it's really frustrating that nothing can be done and there is no confirmation. I sometimes wonder if wearing earbuds during the days after my vertigo could have caused things to be worse. I still have off and on ear fullness, almost like the feeling that I have to pop my ears. It has...

What Is TRT and When Should It Be Started?

I used headphones and earbuds in December, yes. But I wasn't listening to music, just podcast on YouTube right before bed. My iPhone recorded the dB's and they didn't seem to be loud, mostly just in the normal range 60-80 dB for an hour and a half for a couple nights (I still have all the audio...

What Is TRT and When Should It Be Started?

Hi Michael, Thanks for your response. I had the other symptoms originally in early-mid December 2022 and the tinnitus started December 30th. The only symptoms that I currently have are tinnitus, off and on again ear fullness, and clicking sounds when I swallow or yawn (which may not be related...

What Is TRT and When Should It Be Started?

I'm having a hard time determining if my tinnitus is reactive. Sometimes I think yes, sometimes I think no. But to be safe I usually don't try to cover it at all. I only go up three clicks from silent on my iPhone, two clicks if it is not that bad in the moment. I feel like I have 4 bad days, 1...

What Is TRT and When Should It Be Started?

I play crickets pretty much all day/night long unless I'm having a really good day. I use my iPhone mainly (Spotify) and I usually only turn the iPhone volume up three clicks from silent, so it shouldn't be loud at all. I haven't measured it though, maybe I will. I would love to get to a point...

My 1st Year (Reactive) Tinnitus + Hyperacusis Anniversary — A Better Place

Do you think the steroids made a difference in the end? I'm upset that I wasn't diagnosed properly and I didn't get steroids until way after my vertigo. I feel like I'm a lost cause at this point.

What Is TRT and When Should It Be Started?

But I will go insane if I just listen to my tinnitus all day long... If I keep the volume low, how could it make things worse?

How Can You Habituate to HIGH FREQUENCY Tinnitus?

I have high frequency loss at 6 kHz and 8 kHz but I didn't get an extended hearing test. I'm guessing it isn't good news. I didn't get steroids right away because my doctor is an idiot and he didn't believe me. Now I'm stuck with this I guess. I was past a couple weeks before I got any steroids.

My 1st Year (Reactive) Tinnitus + Hyperacusis Anniversary — A Better Place

Hi @Darrenb111, I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis recently and I'm in crisis mode. I am going to start using Sound Therapy and CBT. Did you ever get physical therapy for the balance issues and what medications did you take that you think helped your recovery from onset? Thank you very much.
