My Hyperacusis Is Cured & I Barely Have Tinnitus Anymore

Most of the things I thought helped me probably didn’t make a real difference, except for limiting excessive sound exposure for just under a year. In the end, it was mostly just time that made the difference.

My Hyperacusis Is Cured & I Barely Have Tinnitus Anymore

Almost 2025, and my hyperacusis is virtually gone. Back in 2021, during my worst period, I could barely go outside for eight months. Now, my tinnitus has improved so much that it’s minimal—just one tone—and I don’t even notice it when I’m in bed. I promise, there’s hope.

My Hyperacusis Is Cured & I Barely Have Tinnitus Anymore

I can't directly attribute my 'recovery' to anything except the passage of time. Unfortunately, this is usually the case with hyperacusis, it's about getting the right balance between exposure and silent recovery. I had quite a few setbacks along the way and my ears will forever be more...

My Hyperacusis Is Cured & I Barely Have Tinnitus Anymore

I should clarify that I'm not cured of hyperacusis by any means. I still experience occasional pain in my ears and some sound distortions (as well as a quieter baseline tinnitus), but they're not nearly as bad as they were before. I try to stay away from headphones because those can still cause...

Can My Hyperacusis Improve So That I Can Listen to Music with Headphones Again?

Yea I'm back to playing bass and want to start learning electric keyboard (the overtones of acoustic are still a bit too harsh). Electronic drums and beatmaking are other aspirations. I want to study computer science and sound engineering at Berklee College of Music, and eventually open up a...

Otomagnetics — A New Drug Delivery System for the Inner and Middle Ear

Free masons were knocked out of power and now we can proceed with curing every ailment in the body, cyborgs, and spatial/oceanic colonization. Once we're done curing ourselves, we can cure the universe.

How Can Category 4 Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Patients Improve?

Mindfulness activities; anything that induces a flow state in the brain. Drawing, reading, journaling/writing, quiet music (if you can handle it), pink noise therapy, exercise (not running), and medications like Zyprexa can help. Dissociatives and psychedelics are potentially worth looking into...

Can My Hyperacusis Improve So That I Can Listen to Music with Headphones Again?

I thought I'd never be able to use headphones again, and I went through a period of about a year where I didn't once dare put a pair around my ears--given that was the original reason I got hyperacusis. However, I'm cured now and use Bluetooth iJoy headphones because they project 4D...

My Hyperacusis Is Cured & I Barely Have Tinnitus Anymore

Recreational tripping on DXM (Robitussin cough syrup) about 10 times, and I now take Zyprexa (mood stabilizer; olanzapine) and Vistriol (anti-anxiety). My theory is hyperacusis is caused by cortisol-induced oxidization, which is why mindfulness activities and psychedelics work so well--because...

My Hyperacusis Is Cured & I Barely Have Tinnitus Anymore

Y'all probably know my story around here. Suffered alone in a room not being able to go outside because of crippling hyperacusis. I'm all good now and I think psychedelics positively rewired my brain and formed new neural connections. I'm a professional musician now, with extra caution...

    Suicidal

Well boyos, it's been 10 months with hyperacusis and things aren't looking too good. I've accepted that this is my new life now; no more concerts, parties, restaurants, movies, etc etc. Constant sacrifices and compromises and I'm still left with a shitty, disabled life. I'm only a teenager, so...
