    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

Clonazepam only has an effect on me at 0.5 mg. At 0.25 mg, nothing. No, I do not take anything else.

Debilitating Tinnitus from Benzo (Clonazepam) Taper

Tinnitus and hyperacusis are common withdrawal symptoms of benzodiazepines. Because of the tapering process, your nervous system is like a young deer surrounded by lions, completely weak and highly sensitive to any stimulus. This can cause temporary tinnitus as the balance between excitatory and...

People with Dysacusis, Distortions or Loudness Hyperacusis — Describe Your Symptoms!

I tried to taper down but went too fast, and all the distortions came back. Unfortunately, my central nervous system couldn’t handle it, so I increased the dosage again. How long did you take Clonazepam before it stopped working? According to Dr. De Ridder, it should work for dysacusis for a...

People with Dysacusis, Distortions or Loudness Hyperacusis — Describe Your Symptoms!

Weirdly enough, I was prescribed Clonazepam for tinnitus and dysacusis in October 2023. The dysacusis disappeared by about 95%. I had additional noises like echoes, whooshing sounds, metallic tones added to sounds like church bells, clapping (even on TV), cars passing by, running water, the...

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

For me, it is the same. Taking 0.5 mg of Clonazepam seems to help by reducing the hyperactive neurons in the auditory cortex. However, it makes me feel extremely tired, almost like a zombie. I have been trying 0.25 mg for almost four weeks now, but the hyperactivity has come back strongly...

    Introducing Tinnitus Quest

It turns out Warren Buffett, 94 years old, is distributing billions of dollars to charity. I’m trying to get my contacts in the financial world to gather some information on how to contact him. You never know!

    Introducing Tinnitus Quest

Thank you, @Hazel and @Markku, for the wonderful interview yesterday. I had a small idea. There are 41,000 members on this forum, though I realize not everyone visits on a monthly basis. However, the visibility of Tinnitus Quest on the forum seems quite low. There used to be a banner, but...

Yes it can improve a lot. The first months my dysacusis was about over everything. Nowadays it is just shower and church bells. Those sounds are distorted.

    Brai3n Tinnitus Clinic

I never stopped Rivotril. You should not stop it if you take Deanxit. Rivotril counters an annoying side effect of Deanxit (Parkinson spasms).

    Brai3n Tinnitus Clinic

I stopped for a few months but recently started again. The side effects are present but manageable.

    Brai3n Tinnitus Clinic

I live in Ghent, where Brai3n is located. I tried tRNS and HD, but they did nothing for my tinnitus and cost a lot of money. Neuromodulation is complete nonsense for tinnitus. Medication helps me much more (Deanxit, Aripiprazole, Rivotril in low doses). Dr. De Ridder is doing his best, but I...

    Tinnitus After a Festival

Something I haven't mentioned is that I seem to experience neuropathic pain in my brain after prolonged exposure to noise. It's not about the loudness, but rather the duration. If it were the loudness, I'd assume it was hyperacusis, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It feels like I can only...

    Introducing Tinnitus Quest

@Hazel, how was the pitch with the young researchers on October 10th?

Dental Hygienist's Ultrasonic Tool Made My Tinnitus Much Worse and Destroyed All Progress

Jeez, if you can’t be supportive or positive, then don’t say anything. Tinnitus is not something people get by being “stupid”; it’s often the result of doing everyday things. Some people are just unlucky, while others seem to get away without any issues.
