Does anyone know if they calm down at all? Everything I've read says they are likely permanent.
Bill Bauer
Just recently there was a post saying that there are treatments for it.
Mr Worried
Yeah, they're most likely permanent unless surgically removed. Some people are lucky and they move out of the field of vision later in life when the vitreous liquifies, but most are stuck with them

"Recently, a laser procedure called laser vitreolysis has been introduced that is a much safer alternative to vitrectomy for eye floater treatment. In this in-office procedure, a laser beam is projected into the eye through the pupil and is focused on large floaters, which breaks them apart and/or frequently vaporizes them so they disappear or become much less bothersome."
Mr Worried
lazer vitreolysis is generally only good for old people who have superhuge floaters that don't reside near the retina. Most affected young people have very tiny floaters that sit too close to the retina to be zapped safely
