Did you get skin colored ear plugs? I wear my plugs in the deli and put them on at a parent teacher conference today. Perhaps in high school or younger people make fun but in the real world you say you have t and you're protecting your ears and they let it go.

@New Guy lol not for me man. I tried explaining a couple of times about tinnitus. The reaction wasn't of sympathy but of "what the heck is that, who cares lmao". I hate life.

I keep my description of t to 2 sentences or less and go with it if someone wants. They never do but I'll talk more if someone wants to. I don't blame people, I would be the same way if I didn't have t.

Just curious @New Guy . What is your quick explanation? Mine is too lengthy and want to cut it down lol

I was using a tool 9 months ago and a week later I heard a ringing noise when there was no noise around (I look around when I say the second half of the line). I've been very careful to protect my ears since. Rarely do I have to say more or am I asked more. At this point I get a weird expression from the person I'm talking to and the conversation changes.

C'mon, you're pulling my leg. You can hardly even see a properly inserted earplug and you can't see them at all if your hair is long enough.

Besides this, you don't need to be embarrassed. Are you going to judge a person for wearing a hearing aid, for example? Our eyes are drawn to things that stand out surely, but that does not mean those same eyes are judging!
