You are so young to have tinnitus. I hope you can manage somehow until medical science helps us out. I have a hissing type noise, sometimes static. I'm trying TMJ appliance and anything possible to lessen the obnoxious noise. I wish you well.
@just1morething I really hope the medical field finds us a cure. That's good, I was also diagnosed with TMJ so hopefully therapeutic sessions and the night guard gives us some relief. I wish you well also, thank you. I hope we only improve with time. :)
@Striveon, I hope your noise is better today. We all need a break. I'm trying some diazepam with splint at night. Hoping to relax the TMJ and improve possible jaw misalignment.
@just1morething that's good, a better upgrade anyways :) & it also helps for anxiety (I believe) hopefully it works out for you. How about a therapist that massages you jaw and tmj area?
@just1morething I hope you eventually find some relief, don't give up and keep finding a good doctor. I am glad the diazepam is doing you good. Perhaps poor posture? I went to a physical therapist and I will give that a try also. I wish you luck also, thank you.
@Striveon, Yes, muscles such as the SCM and others I'm not familiar with could be contributing to the hissing noise. Posture could indeed be a factor, especially when awakening with one's neck in a awkward position. PT could possibly help with that along with muscle relaxants such as diazepam.
@just1morething yes, my therapist examined me and he noticed my neck does all the work, because certain muscles near my shoulders aren't really doing their job. So that can be a problem perhaps. The neck issue is true when waking up. Is diazepam ototoxic or like a benzo??
Diazepam plus gabapentin was really working good together but I ran out of Gabapentin 300 mg. Noise is very loud now. I used to use klonopin/gabapentin per Dr. Shulman.
I' m bummed with loud hiss atm.
@Striveon, Are you having any positive results with Valium/klonopin plus gabapentin for some relief for your tinnitus? I hope you are. :) I was removing carpet and hauling to landfill so my neck got a bit out of whack.
@just1morething are you going to get gabapentin pills soon? I hope you will and that it'll soon lower to a tolerable level soon :). You should be careful with your neck and try to stand in a good posture. I don't take medications as I'm too afraid of making T worse.
