@Agrajag364 - That is irresponsible of them! It will belittle sufferers in the eyes of others and is also completely illogical. 70db ringing at 10kHz vs. 30db fuzz at 500hz. Which do you think is going to be less intrusive? Which will cause a person to completely change their lives? I can't stand these people.
The BTA said the same thing until @david c reached out to them and asked them to change it. Let's all write an email to ActionOnHearingLoss and ask them to change it! Or tweet at them. Edit: A kind email! A rude one would just hurt our community.
Exactly! I would like to ask belivers of this theory if they have found it is just as easy concentrating/falling asleep to a loud on-going alarm, as oppose to a light buzzing from a quiet fan. I think they would agree that the latter is easier......if not, they are liars.
And I don't even have severe T but I'm not stupid and can easily tell that severe loud T is much more distressing and debilitating then low T. of course it is!
@Autumnly - I was sure I read it on the BTA website a few months ago! Couldn't find it just now. I'm happy they changed it, because it's illogical nonsense. Please send an e-mail @david c .
I hope we one day can actually measure subjective tinnitus, so the people who treat sufferers can actually understand how severe it is.
Emails don't seem necessary anymore, they saw it on twitter! Sorry for derailing this thread. Really happy to hear @Drone Draper is experiencing mild tinnitus, hope you'll have more and more moments like this!
It's not derailing. It's evolving I think it's very important to end this myth that "it's all about your attitude" and a day like today truly shows me how this is oversimplified at best and damaging at worst.
I've not changed that many things in the last few weeks, but the T has improved overall - some bad, some good days, but the trend has been good. Subsequently, I'm more relaxed and more at ease. Would I have been able to say that if I had the same noises as at the beginning? Absolutely not!
Good job on twittering them @Autumnly I've been trying to do that too, but have been busy, so I haven't been much on twitter lately since the voting ended.
