HI Shelbylynn. I read. I was unable to read for 2 years because my tinnitus was so severe and thought I'd never be able to read a book again. I have fluctuating tinnitus, it can be: Silent, mild, moderate, severe and very severe. When it's severe I can't read but I focus on the times when it was much worse and see how far I've come. I'm studying at the moment so have to read lots. I've found putting a slow box fan sound on YouTube has been a lifesaver for me. I tried a few different sounds, but found the slow fan the best because it blends into the background - I even play it when watching t.v. Hope that's helps X
