I'm in a similar boat. I need MRIs for another condition but I'm terrified of getting them now. Wasn't before....

Are you positive that you need an MRI? CT is not good for your suspected condition? For me, MRI was horrible, but I was in a closed one and couldn't have double protection, there was not enough room for it. Could you maybe find a quiet machine?

Personally, my MRI was fine and didn't cause my Tinnitus to spike for even a second. I actually didn't find it to be that loud in fact. Not sure of the machine name, but it was at the Spire hospital if that helps.

Make sure you have muffs with no metal elements in them, otherwise you won't be able to use it. There are several threads with recommendations for muffs to use during MRIs, if you wish.
