I'm grasping at straws here, but if you can't tolerate prednisone, are you able to try naltrexone? Samantha R posted that low dose naltrexone helped her. Ask your doctor if he think it's suitable alternative. Otherwise, I'm so sorry about the constant spikes. I have random spikes too. It's horrendous.

Most of these spikes are temporary. It makes sense to wait at least a month before worrying about being stuck with that sound for the rest of your life. Right now you can assume that this spike will fade. One possibility is that it will Begin fading after about a month and you will be back to your baseline three months after the original trauma. Most likely it will take less time to fade.

If I were you, I would wear earplugs in all environments that have a history of causing T spikes.

Yes @Bill Bauer. I'm definitely wearing ear plugs when I go out now. Wish I had begun day 1, but can't look back. @Thuan Sorry you also experience spikes. It is really tough not knowing what to expect day to day.
