It can settle down, that beast is volatile. Spikes were numerous in the first weeks of the onset of mine. I learned the hard way that my grip, my "absolute best", on this thing was more than weak. But "spikes" means that what you hear today is not necessarely what you'll hear tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after the day after.
