I had a similar situation awhile ago. I was laying in bed, trying to fall asleep and somehow I was convinced there was a tone in my right ear. When I woke up the next morning, nothing.

In your case though, I'd get the wax evaluated anyway. I hope you're doing well :)

Thanks bud! I just started hearing it again, still very faintly, in my left ear. Booked an appointment for later today so hopefully that ear can be fixed at least! I'm worried though because I asked the nurse before leaving last night how they do it. She said they do syringing because most people can't handle the manual cleaning with a curette. Hopefully we can try the manual first.

The best thing you can do right now is try and make sure you don't worry about it too much. From what I hear, syringing is less risky than microsuction, but still has a potential to cause problems - manual removal is preferred from what I've read, so I hope that's an option for you!

My appointment's coming up soon as well, and when I was talking to them, they didn't seem to have an issue with doing it via curette. I think you'll be fine! <3

I hope yours goes well! And I went in yesterday to have it done...turns out I have a double ear infection instead! No sign of wax being the culprit, so now I'm just on amoxicillin clavulanate, aka super amoxicillin. The NP said it looked like my ears were "cooking" they were so red :( So hopefully this stuff clears it up.
