  • Would love to know how you're doing now. Gunshots ruined my life, hearing, and gave me T just like you. I hate my life with hearing loss
I made the mistake of going to a loud concert with sub-par earbuds. My problems got a bit worse unfortunately. Hope it gets better quick.
My reactive tinnitus has gotten worse over the last couple of days, alongside ear pain. Any tips?

No tips, just the usual … protect, try and relax, and maybe heat the ears with a warm compress that's what I do

Unfortunately I haven't found anything - other than staying away from noises / people and if that's impossible wearing earplugs - that works either, sorry :( Fingers crossed that it is only a temporary worsening you're dealing with!!!
I think I'm going to look for a hearing aid to see if that helps. I want to try the white/pink noise to see if that helps over time.
This period of awfulness in my life has made the so many of the memories of my old life seem so much better. I took it all for granted.
Weird clicky noise starting in my right ear today that I've never had before. Not horrible, but weird. Hopefully doesn't get worse.
hey man I was reading some of your posts and I thought we are very similar, my hearing loss start from 5/6 khz and the highest frequency I can hear is 13 khz. I also have H and dyacusis
My hearing has crests and troughs. Been 3 months since the gunshots, but it seems to SLOWLY be getting better.

sounds like good news to me! I didn't really *notice* significant improvements in my hearing until I passed 6 months. I just try not to check in on it constantly and keep myself busy and fingers crossed.

@Tweedleman I haven't realized that T that hasn't improved for 6 months can still begin to fade. Wonderful!

There is no reason for your T to not continue to fade. Ears take months/years to heal. It's slow, but before you know it you will be three years in and feeling a lot better.
Tinnitus spiking a bit at work today. Quite annoying. Before this was trending down in loudness.

Retracements are natural. Don't worry about what happens on a daily basis. What is important is the monthly trend.
My T got worse yesterday. Too much sugar maybe! Started exercising more, trying to encourage healing. Stress of finals doesn't help though.
Sounds in my right still sound like a broken microphone. It got better since it happened though, so good sign?
    Bill Bauer
Yes, that seems like a good sign. Ears take forever to heal, so hopefully it will continue to improve and after 3-6 months you will feel a lot better.

bill is right mosquito, ears "heal" glacially slow. I didn't start noticing any real difference until 6 months in myself.

This is how my right ear sounds like. Constant static like a broken microphone or speaker. Seems to be a good sign tho.
