I am not as optimistic as you. I think there is a chance that the middle class people will never be able to easily travel again (at least not in our lifetime).

@Bill Bauer Oh no! Don't say that Bill! Travelling is what keeps me alive. I couldn't live with out it. I traveled around Scotland last year for my birthday in October. Took my van and done the famous route up the North West coast. @PortugalTheMan where would you like to visit? If your partner and you want to come to England, I'd love to show you around my way. :)
I would definitely recommend Les Pays de la Loire. It's a beautiful region in France where you can visit castles and some historic sites and museums (Nantes + Tours are really great!). I don't think it's very expensive to spend your holiday there
