  • Tinnitus, low testosterone, possible gout, nerve pain in extremities, high bp, visual snow, anxiety, depression. Oh its my Happy birthday
New symptoms..numbness in hands to go along with the feet. Tinnitus must have been the start in this neuro mess. One more rounds of mri! Joy
went to the beach. very salty water. immediately my crackling disappeared and my T was lowered. weird...
Instead of trying to run or avoid the T noise..I sat in a quiet area and actually listened to it for a few mins. I felt better. Weird

That's the first step to slowly getting better days. It was incredibly difficult for me to do that early on, but eventually I became able to be totally neutral about it when I'm in quiet areas.

I entered this stage in the last month or so.. In the beginning I truly thought I could never enter a silent room again. Just goes to show how much progress can really be made! Congrats sayeed on taking your power back, it gets easier:) same to you @kuromi!

Good job I'm working on this
Just got prescribed 15 mg of Mirtazapine for anxiety and sleep...oh boy here we go again. Hopefully it doesn't increase T. Thoughts?

I got worsened tinnitus and worsend hyperacusis after being on it a year + a shower of eye floaters. I cant know for sure if its because of mirt but I think so. I know everybody's different but I really cant recommend it.

    Thanks guys....

so far not bad guys. I took the first dosage last night.. i slept like a baby 8 hours for the first time. but I did wake up drowsy and am a bit tired today. lets see if I adjust over the next few days otherwise i reduce dosage. I do know lower dosages make you even more drowsy so maybe i don't. I'm not sure but only one way to find out. T levels are the same as yesterday. I'm just more calm and accepting of it.
So...tried Xanax for the 1st time per recommendation of my doctor for an anticipated anxiety filled work call. Woah it works. No T / anxiety
    Sayeed
Thanks ! I only plan on taking when T spikes or when I really needed.

On a side note I read you take mirtazapine. I just got prescribed today..15 mg. How does it affect your T?

    No T at all?
    Sayeed
I've used it twice this week. Both times work related T spikes and it worked like a charm. I plan on limiting it to 2-3 time a week at most.
anyone every tried transcendental meditation? any useful podcasts or links out there?
So I went for a half mile jog for the first time since getting T. I heard my heart every beat in my ears. Weird experience.

This kind of activity gives me short term relief for a few minutes after. Very odd.
I see my neuro on Thursday. They found some white spots in the mri. I am hoping praying it's not MS..but its seems from what I read it is.

Good news Sayeed! So glad to hear! Thank you for sharing the good news. :)

thanks for the support guys.. you dont know how much it helps me. I really mean it. bless you guys

now i do need your opinion on something- if the ent says its not my ears (but the first ent said i have slight hearing loss) and the neuro says its not my brain.. what could it be then? the psych says its anxiety but from what i ready anxiety and stress only make it worse not cause it.. thoughts?

@ Sayeed I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm not sure what caused my initial T, either medication, MRI w/o ear protection, acoustic trauma or stress. My initial was either meds or MRI. The louder T recently was either meds, anxiety or acoustic trauma. Hard to say. I guess our only choice is to take care of ourselves, protect from loud noises and consider new treatments in the future.
Used flonase per my ent orders last night and this AM...tinnitus is higher then usual all of a sudden. Is there a link? Damn I was well too
so if I'm reading the MRI and MRA correctly I have nothing major wrong. lets see what the doc says. Next is dentist 4 potential TMJ. tiring
Had a couple of decent days but it's back to remind me who's boss. Lol
    Keith Handy
May you have more decent days soon. I find the word "merciful" coming to mind when I have a quiet morning or an easy shift at work.
    Bill Bauer
If you are experiencing good days, eventually you'll get to the "can hear it only in quiet rooms" stage.
How strict are you guys with salt? Cheat meals? I miss pizza and burgers
    Steph1710
I like how none of our comments are of any use lol.
    Sayeed
I'm thinking 3 slices of pizza once a month just to keep my sanity lol

@Sayeed that being said, I had butter with popcorn which I hadn't had in 7 months. My son wanted to watch a movie at home and wanted popcorn, so I obliged for Mother's Day!
Outside of tinnitus....one word I wish that didn't exist is ototoxic.
    Stanlex
idk about this ototoxicity but it feels like almost every medication on the earth is apparently ototoxic according to ATA. Even common used drugs like ibuprofen is but I have never heard of anyone who got tinnitus from it.
Not bad book so far - "living with tinnitus and hyperacusis" by Lawrence McKenna, David Baguley, Don Mcferran
