I've had things like this happen many times, and have always ended up fine in the end. As long as you aren't abusing your ears every day, one-offs like this shouldn't pose too much risk.

That happened to me. Hate that stupid on star button. I still look at it with dislike! I was fine but the scare gave me anxiety from hell. I hope you are ok.
