  • Soooo a roller coaster over the past few weeks haha. Not tinnitus related but the stress has made me forget about it so that's good haha
Went to the doctor apparently I don't have hay fever, it's an infection.. anyways got prescribed doxycycline.

I wanted to say the same thing. Doxycycline gave me my tinnitus. Tinnitus is listed in the top 10 side effects of Doxy. I've taken Amoxicillin a few times since T, and it's always been fine. As @makeyourownluck said, Amoxi is generally regarded as safe for ears.

Thanks guys, I think I'll be okay. The infection sort of gave me tinnitus in my left ear and I haven't felt or heard a difference in my ears just yet but I am almost finished with the course. luckily the infection has cleared.

@makeyourownluck actually I'm slightly hesitant about amoxicillin because my sister had a horrible reaction to it. But I think it'll be fine tbh
My tinnitus is getting back to "normal" today. Which is funny cuz I almost find comfort in my normal sound hahaha
Once the wire is out I'll post a picture haha. Don't want to fuel my hypochondria until it's been safely removed.

So it turns out it was just a weird thick hair. Nothing serious in the end. But hurt like hell taking it out.
Does anyone know if I will receive a letter or a call for my urgent ENT appointment thru the NHS?

@makeyourownluck yup. I saw my grandma yesterday who hasn't been to the doctors for her next vaccines because she's still so angry at them telling my grandad that the pain in his side was a pulled muscle when it was cancer. He told them it was cancer because he had it there before, but they literally said he was over reacting. He died last June. He was 79 but that's not the point. He died in horrific amounts of pain.

My neighbour who I mentioned, had a split on his toe. He tried for 6 months to get a face-to-face appointment with Dr, but they said it wasn't important enough for him to come in. In the end his wife drove him to the hospital because the toe(s) were turning black. Turns out they had gone gangrenous and had to be removed immediately before it spread any further.

@makeyourownluck yes very weird to have the wire there. I'll share it whenever it's out. I'd rather not share it yet as I want it to be over with and I don't know what the wait time will be. The thing is that I don't even know what the heck the thing actually is.
I'll report back once the wire has been removed. It probably won't make much difference to my overall T but a few things make sense now.
Been referred to an ENT to remove a metal wire in my ear, does anyone know how long it takes to receive an urgent referral?
Ear has been ringing very loudly all night. Very frustrated

I feel like I've been thru this before but not sure actually. Masking doesn't seem to be as effective as it used to be.
Was just asleep, my hearing almost went out on my right ear. Tinnitus has gone mad loud suddenly and slowly coming back.
Today the pulsating has clamed down a lot. I can hear it very faintly even in the quiet. Not sure how tomorrow will be!
Sounds like a windy washing machine in my ear.

Sunday night I was laying down and felt a sharp pain in my right ear and about an hour later I heard whush whush whush whush... hopefully I can just habituate. Stupid ear, wish you'd just behave.
It's finally happened, I developed pulsatile tinnitus. It was one of my greatest fears but just have to get on with it, I suppose.
Last night my tinnitus got reallly loud and my hearing went down for about an hour. Scary but I'm back to normal today.
Does anyone else experience a spike when they have indigestion? Might be a coincidence but usually happens when I have heartburn.
Just checking in again, things are okay. New sounds in my left ear which appeared about 8 months ago but i'm fine overall.
