Your tinnitus reactivity sounds quite similar to mine in the sense that it matches the volume of whatever external sound source is nearby. Once the sound source is gone and there is silence, the T immediately goes back down to a low baseline. Although I wouldn't classify my baseline as "low". Plus i deal with distortions every now and then. I can't believe such a thing can exist. No one should have to deal with that

Reactive tinnitus is hell. Mine got a little better over time, so it's no longer every little thing that sets it off but I get a little grace period early in the day. I hope, something similar will happen to your tinnitus, too. Until then, try and protect your ears as much as possible.

@ZFire that's exactly what mine does. Has your reactivity ever improved? I have sound sensitivity too (not pain) hoping if that improves maybe the reactivity will improve too. I can't believe in 2022 we have no viable treatment and we're still being given the "5-10 yrs away" line
