Tinnitus makes us experience all kinds of horrible things. I hope you'll be feeling a little more calm soon!

You do not sound like a basket case. Tinnitus is extremely taxing, you don't have to have prior mental health issues to be affected by it tremendously. Hope you will feel better after the initial reaction settles.

The first year or two is the hardest. I know you are sane in mind but the sound is trying. You're still early onset. Do whatever is needed to get through this even if medication is required. All pray for better treatments or cure.❤ Ken

Ty so much @Leila its just crazy how much things have spun out of control since this started. Like everyone else here I was living a pretty normal life, stressful but normal. My T has been lower but the panic has been out of control so much so that I consider going to the hospital on a daily basis. I just hope I didn't cause myself a benzo tolerance w/ Grandaxin.

@Leila on a good note after taking 0.5mg of Clonazepam as a last resort slowly over Thurs afternoon I calmed down, slept great and had a whole day the next day of feeling 90% normal. I'm wondering if crossing over to Clonazepam is the way to go in the short term bc returning to Grandaxin has me back in that panic state 2nite. It's super short acting.

Thanks @Ken219 i appreciate the kind words youve never had any issues with your benzo regimen correct? I believe I've read that across a number of posts.

It's a bit of trial and error when it comes to meds, but it's great that you've found something that works. I remember how hard it was to get used to the 24/7 noise(s), so if Clonazepam helps you calm down / sleep, go for it, because your body and mind need rest in order to get you through the day. Stay strong, it will get better!

@IntotheBlue03 good or bad I've taken Prozac Xanax Ambien to sleep. I function 99% normal. It has kept me through a career now at 73 I see no reason to stop or experiment. Praying for better treatments or cure. Ken❤

Im in same boat as you tho i got tinnitus in one ear 9 years ago cant remember how i was then ..judging by my old posts it wasn't as bad as now
IntotheBlue03
@Ken219 @Hottopic29 Thanks gentlemen I just can't believe how severe the constant panic is even though the T is so low. I still couldn't leave home on Clonazepam but my issue is I always take less medication than directed in micro doses throughout the day. I might need to stop doing that. I'm starting to think since this panic was there before the benzo use maybe it's not rebound/withdrawal at all

Ive not resorted to medication yet .. cause i dont want a increase and im sleeping to much as it is .. yesterday was a good day felt confident till my tones changed now im feeling really down .. i have hyperacusis my only symptom is a have a slight cricket sound that activates to noise and my pulse ifvmy blood pressure goes up
IntotheBlue03
@Hottopic29 Oh no u have reactive tinnitus when u say the cricket sound activated to noise? That's exactly what my tinnitus sounds like and does except it's not reactive and very low under this medication.
Hottopic29
Yea its annoying it can be quiet in room ill turn fan on and it starts buzzing away so i turn it off so it can go back to its hole lol
IntotheBlue03
Yes I know exactly what ur talking about this made it a demon for me and was the most torturous aspect for this reason alone I've felt compelled to sign a pact with the devil over Clonazepam lol there is no reactivity now. I'm sorry to hear that though do u have hyperacusis? I hear it is tied to that potentially. If that improves reactivity should too.
