Yeah, took them all out.

If the building owners come, we don't let them in the apartment. And if they somehow find their way into the apartment, we just make sure they don't look up; wear colourful outfits, do Kim Jong-Un impersonations... whatever keeps them happy.

I got the one from nest and the good thing it alert you before it starts, so I can shut it down before goes crazy or turn it off from my phone.

My landlord allowed me to take it down, but after a while the home security company called them and said they had to put it back up or they wont get any insurance if a fire burns down the house. So they had to put it back it up.

I took all of them down, bar the one in the hall. I done this before tinnitus mind you. My daughter has never liked loud noises. Our landlord never visits so not had any issues.

You can just cut the bottom of a big plastic bottle and cover the detector using some duct tape stuck on the ceiling. That should work. If the inspectors come, just remove the cover.

I don't have one, which is actually against the law, but I can't risk it. Which means I'll not be covered by insurance if a fire were to happen, so I really hope that NEVER happens.

Mine are still there… only because of my wife and son. If I was single they would be removed

I plan on taking mine out. My landlord doesn't really pop in unexpectedly so that's not an issue. plus, the walls in my building are so thin, that if there were a fire I'd hear my neighbor's alarm go off anyways

I guess temporarily until the 18th or so they'll be in but once we move I don't want them in new place. Though, I may look into nest

Took out the battery and put it up again!
All good!
No one can tell.
