Two things that I find very interesting is that he's working on a bimodal device and a next generation transcranial current device. There's hope that these things may become available for trials in a matter of months.
I personally think that the bimodal device has potential, as it works in a similar way as Shore's Auricle (stimulation timing and tone matching of one's tinnitus) and there's a guy on TT (Archer) who has mentioned that he has lower tinnitus by using a similar VNS+tone matching device.
Dr. De Ridder has also told me that he is planning to use the new transcranial stimulation device for a tinnitus trial.
The difference between this device and other existing counterparts (like HD-tDCS) is that the new one targets multiple areas in a very precise way (thus reaching deep brain structures) while it also receives direct neurofeedback (e.g. how does the brain react to stimulation?).
all we all can see is a lot of promises everywhere...and until then suffering. if would be that easy to wait with t...or travel to the treatment... but is not.
I think that Dr. De Ridder is very forthcoming about the projects he's currently working on.
