Yeah, no it's not that simple lol. It's between hissing or escaping steam or fuzz. I asked though because, other people have reported a pattern with this. I don't have "only in a quiet room" barely noticeable T. It's thankfully no longer over everything every single day. I have moments I feel normal which is relief.
If you look across TT for "static" or "hiss" you will see that there are stories from people who have "fuzz" and also have quiet days or it has completely disappeared
if you're going to minimize how I feel and not have an answer to my question you can scroll on 'bye'. You aren't in my shoes and yes I had catastrophic tinnitus 10/10 well over a year so fucking loud it was over everything. It only started to improve the past 4-5 months. So if I want to ask others who have had changes like this on my page and how they progressed, I can.
@LostinTX great question! I am in roughly the same boat as you, t turned to static about 13 months ago. Somedays it's quiet, other days not so much.
@AnthonyMcDonald except it's not that simple... otherwise people wouldn't be reaching out for support. Now if you're actually trying to be helpful, then fine, if you're trying to be condescending, then your efforts would be better suited to trolling people on Reddit.
I can't belive this is actually happening. We should be helping each other!! @LostinTX I think with tinnitus everything is possible. I've had T for two years ( 3 sounds including a hiss/steam sound) and it completely went away for 8 years. I guess if some of the tones disappeared you have a good reason to be optimistic about it, even if it's still hard to deal with.
@LostinTX yes, my T turned into a low static hiss and on some days, I wouldn't hear it at all. You are right to be cautious though. I slipped up a few times and had a couple of noise traumas and now my T is back properly. So, I would say your T sounds like it's on a great track! Keep positive and keep careful and you should be fine. :) x
